Another referral from RCIA Chris Tucker, This job was really one we tried not to sell her a cleaning, as her roof is in the end stage of it's life expectancy. After we educated her about what to expect and that the outcome would be minimal, she pushed to get this done. We had to be careful with her roof and a s...

Not too long ago someone shared his experience about his runaway trailer becoming detached and the ladders breaking away and torpedoing into a parked car. That prompted me to rethink how I have my ladders secured. So now in addition to bungie cords I also secure them with chains and clasps as back-up....

No New Posts Do you have to compete with "After Coating" companies, who sell roof prevention coatings and maintenance programs? I do. (Preview)
Here is something to show your customers, if your competitor is selling roof treatments and maintenance treatments to supposedly prevent algae. Read it carefully. It clearly says they really don't work, that your local govt may have laws against their use, that it could void your roofing warranty...

No New Posts Need a new roof or just a roof cleaning? Does roof cleaning have an adverse effect on roofers and visa versa? Florida (Preview)
Does the roof cleaning industry harm the roofing industry? I doubt it affects it adversely, if both the professional roofing contractor and the professional roof cleaning contractor are honest and fair with the homeowner. My point being: 1. I consider myself an honest roof cleaner. So, if I am aske...

This is to all the pros out there. Im using water, SH, TSP, Borax, and Gain soap as surfactant. After spraying a roof with "applesauce" mix the gloecapsa magma turns orange. This has happened to me on shingle, tile, and painted metal roofs. I can rinse some of the orange off with a garden...

No New Posts The whole roof? ( 1 2 3 )

Just a rookie question. In my area I see a ton of roofs that have bad staining on the north facing sides (much like we see on siding). My question is do I clean the whole roof? I normally do the whole house when I soft wash so I figured on doing the same on roofs but just wanted to see if I was off base.

At Spray Wash, we tend to get a lot of "bizarre" calls. We've always had the attitude that we can clean anything...or at least give it a good try! Well, here was another first for us...a dome house. Project was done 10/24/12. Took 4 hours to clean house roof, decks and out buildings.
