Good morning guys. Its has been about 2 years since I have posted here. Business is good.......thanks to RCIA. You guys have helped out so much and it certainly is appreciated.
I started in 2009 with the Bandit, hated it from day one. Way too many priming issues.
2010 went with the All flo, although it worked a bit better, didnt like it too much.
2011 and 2012 used the Yamada Air. Much better than the All Flo, but occasionally will have some priming issues.
I am conisidering the John Blue roofster for 2013. I like the idea of the compact size and no need for a compressor taking up 1/3 of my truck bed.
Do they still use stainless steel? Does anyone have any good things (or bad things to say about it)
Thank you guys. And have a great New year.

I read as much as I could online and actually Chris said back in 2006-2009 that he did NOT recommend John Blue or Udor. I was just curious if the companies made any changes to the construction? I view all pumps as "disposable" however at $1600 for the JB, just curious.

Chris had a JB that was his go-to pump. I remember him speaking fondly of it, but at the time it was out of my price range, so I never investigated. I don't know if they changed them up and that caused him to end his love affair.

doesn't sound like it's a consideration but since Bob added the accumulator they don't have many priming issues ... what's wrong with your all flo? I don't hear many issues about them and when i get a box truck I'm moving to air & figured I'd definitely go the all flo route.
If you dont mind having a guy standing next to your compressor all day and fiddling with the air hose to get the All Flo to kick in, then the All Flo is your pump.
For me, they were a PITA......definately better than 12V, but not nearly as good as the Yamada.
I would litteraly have to get off the roof 4-5 times a job to go down and take the air hose out of the pump and then plug it back in to get the All Flo to start pumping. I have said it a million times.........they can take a man to the moon, but noone can figure out how to get chlorine from a pickup truck onto a roof! I would seriously pay 10k for a no nonsense pump that works and works every single time.

The BEST roof cleaning pump set up I know of is this. A BIG compressor and a 1 inch air pump.
The John Blues are not reliable, period, and really pricey!
Miss one time rinsing them out, and you will regret it.
Right now, I have 2 1/2 inch Yamada Kynar Air Pumps with a Viton kit in them, and they have worked w.o any problems for 6 months straight. I ONLY bought them cause they were a super deal, and mu 1 inch Wilden Hastelloy Pump needed a new intake manifold (1200.00) !
The Rigid compressor is really a bit small, for all but the 3/8 all flows.
For 1/2 inch and bigger, a larger compressor is required.
I have well over 100 roofs on my bandit and had 2 problems.. both problems were fitting leeks on the supply side. Love my 12 volt BoB has done a great job with the Bandit. As far as the all-flo, Mine is new and next season will be my 1st, I hope it runs good..
4 yrs running the all-flo and no problems. 1 time I had to spray wd-40 in the air line.
good to hear, maybe Brad has a defective pump cause i've never heard anyone say they've had so many problems. especially when he said that he can't get through a single roof without at least having one issue.
hope it works out for him though cause i've been there before with my pump in a box starter kit, when i had no clue what i was doing. that's no way to get through a summer.
& certainly not saying Brad doesn't know what he's doing, but something must be defective or wrong with his system.
I appreciate all of the input. It looks like another year with Yamada's for me......Chris, I have seen you say many times "Ford vs. Chevy" I guess you were right.
In the mean time, I will be searching high and low for the best out there. I have done some inquiries on medical peristaltic pumps. I called a company in January and told them what I was looking for. Three weeks later I received a quote in the mail.....$16,300! It probally would have lasted 2 weeks! LOL.

My 2 All-Flow flows worked great for small jobs but I always hated the pulsating action of that pump. When I used it for a transfer pump the hose would work its way out of the SH tank and spill everywhere if you did not watch it continuously. If any one wants to buy one or both, they are for sale as my Pentaflex has worked flawless, has no pulsation, and shoots farther.
Chris, what happened to the intake manifold on your 1 inch Wilden Hastelloy Pump? I never got me a 1 " pump because business picked up again unexpectedly and the pump you told me about got sold. Does the intake manifold cost $1200 or the entire pump?

The Pentaflex is a bad azz pump, make no mistake! My problems with it are it sucks for tile roofs, because it does not like a small nozzle. To really beat a Pentaflex takes a 1 inch air pump, or a 1/2 inch with a big compressor/
IF you plan to stick with the small Rigid compressor, you will not get the performance out of an air pump to beat a Pentaflex.
But, reliability will always go to the air pumps!
The manifold ALONE costs 1200.00 Marcus! My 1 inch air pump is a wilden hastelloy!
I am certainly looking for reliablity! We dont have any (or at least not too many) tile roofs up North. I would really like a pump that does not have any priming issues, stalls, or needs to be babysat all day.
The Yamada has been the best of the bunch so far for us. I have no experience with the Pentaflex. I am not crazy about the 12V at all. I just think they are all Mickey Mouse and sound like a toy....not to mention perform like a toy IMHO.

Brad Im not a professional pump builder and I have had a few problems ' but you should probably talk to Bob @ PT or one of the other pump distributors and maybe they can find out what your problem is.
Trust me, I certainly have talked to Bob, Rex, and Lori multiple times. I am hard at work right now getting everything ready for 2013. I appreciate and respect everyones opinion and help.
