Regulator or Water Separator

Confusing as to where to post for members and assistance, sorry for the post on the "OPEN" forum, I wondered why I got not response.

Regulator or Water Seperator

I guess this may be one of those, "depends on who your talk to" type of questions.  So , I figured I would bring it to the forum:

I have an air system: HF 6.5 HP 9-13 CFM (set at approx. 130) to a regulator/filter to a water separator to a 1/2" All-Flo Pump (All connected with a 3/8" air line).  After the pump, I have approximately 3 ft of 5/8" flex tech to my reel, then 200 ft of the 5/8" flex tech line out to a trigger gun and 36" wand to tips.  This system is drawing off 125 gallon tank of solution or water in the gravity fed process.

Two questions:

1) from the compressor (in the air line), what goes first the water separator or filter/regulator?

2) what is the best PSI setting on both the compressor and the mini regulator/filter?  I am getting about 40-45 ft of stream.  Can I get more or no due to the compressor size?

Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks for the response Gary, the 80-100 psi is that the compressor setting or the mini regulator/filter? I was told the compressor should be set around 130 psi and the mini regulator at 90 psi is this about right...(also, should the dryer and mini regulator be close to the compressor or closer to the pump?) I will also look at changing out the spray hose to that 3/4".. Thanks.
