I need to know what is the right way to apply shingle oil. I read it needs to be applied just after the surface is dry and not the whole shingle to prevent to much penetration. I still want to retain the golden

wheat field colour. I tried a test patch with my pump sprayer and it seemed the oil was too thick and did not mist nicely. Next I want to try an electric paint sprayer.

Can anyone help me out here with the right way to apply shingle oil. I would much appreciate it.
