Hey Sal, math is an important part of this business. Know the percentage your SH and work it out. Your % doesn't have to be razor sharp precise, just get it between 3%-4% and you'll be able to feel your way through from there as you gain experience.
If you're not good at math, find someone who is and give them your numbers and tell them where you want to be in regards to a final mix.
* Not trying to be a hard ass,..but too many people come to these sites and want all the answers laid out for them,...believe me,..doing alot of the work yourself is doing yourself a big favor.
Sorry but I still don't get it I read where the mix should be 50% on some sites others like you 3% that is.09 if I use 30 gallon tank so I add less than 1 gallon
I don't know what was going on Chris,...Every time I would type a response "1 gallon" would just appear in the middle of a sentence after I submitted the reply,Ha,Ha,..
First I though it was my typing,..but when I tried to edit it,..it would revert right back. I don't know,..but it made my responses look really messed up.
*Chris, I didn't mean I couldn't type it myself,..it was just appearing in my replies,Ha,Ha,..

Thank you for putting up with me Its my old age I guess.
I sent you a private message, not sure if you got it.
Anyhow you want 1/3 1 gallon SH to 2/3 water,..plus your surfactant.
For 30 gallons mix you want 10 gallons of 1 gallon SH and 20 gallons of water,..plus surfactant.
*Hey Chris, here it did it again,Ha,Ha,...I won't delete it this time,..but I didn't even type those 1 gallon references. I don't know,..I'm using Google Chrome,..maybe that's it.
**Sal,..pay no attention to the 1 gallon reference,...not relevant.
So,..it's One Third SH and Two Thirds water,..plus surfactant.

The reason this is confusing is because its explaining the % of the raw SH and not the % of the final mix (which is how most explain it). In your example you are assuming the strength of the raw SH is 12%. All of the raw SH you get should be between 10-12%.
So, lets make this simple & easy and explain it as the percentage of the final mixed solution. Assuming your mixing 100 gals of cleaning mix...
30gal SH, 70gal water = 30% mix
50gal SH, 50gal water = 50% mix
In your example of 30 gals of cleaning mix...
9gal SH, 21gal water = 30% mix
15gal SH, 15gal water = 50% mix
Use something in between this range and you can clean the GM off any roof. Best thing you can do is practice using a pump sprayer and do test spots with different % mixes and learn what's right for you. It's not rocket science so don't make it harder than it has to be. Hope this eliminates the confusion for you.
thank you guys.
