Here is a roof in Tampa we just cleaned today 5-23-2014. These folks are repeat customers of ours who used our service nearly 5 years ago. As you can see, they have a lot of trees around, that makes their roof get dirty looking faster then folks who's roofs are out in the open. Our guys trimmed a few tree branches that were much too close to the roof for peace of mind.
Our customers just bought a 1500.00 BBQ called a Big Green Egg, and they both work for Tampa Electric. They are having a Memorial Day Party, and invited us! They said to being some business cards, because our work speaks for itself. I may go to their BBQ Party, but not to solicit any more roof cleaning work, that's for sure! Currently, we are booked up for 2 weeks solid.
Thank God it is a 4 day weekend, and Memorial Day is Monday! It has been in the mid 90's here in the Tampa Florida area all this week, with no rain in sight. If it is 95 degrees outside, it is well over 100 degrees when we are up cleaning these roofs! Our guys work hard, and need a little break.
Thanks for the kind words about our work. It means a lot when a fellow roof cleaning professional applauds us
Check out this Tampa Roof Cleaning we just did this past week. This roof is up in Avila, one of the Tampa Florida area's most exclusive communities. It belongs to an ex Tampa Bay Buccaneer Football Player, who was injured, and can't play pro football anymore.
We were in Avila cleaning another roof, when this customer approached us, to get a free estimate on getting his large tile roof cleaned.
He told us that everyone in Avila was getting roof cleaning letters, and were all potential customers for us. I just smiled, and informed him that we have probably already cleaned we over 1/2 of all the shingle and tile roofs in Avila, over the 20 plus years we have been cleaning roofs here in the Tampa Florida area :)
The roof cleaners in FL mail out flyers to HOs? Are they effective in generating business?
Sure, and so are these coupon magazines, especially ValPak
But here in Tampa, there is already a demand for roof cleaning. Not only does the heat and humidity here in Tampa make roofs get dirty fast, but many of our customers live in what are called deed restricted communities. These communities have homeowner associations that force people to have their roofs cleaned.

I was going to add that we don't solicit new roof cleaning business Dave, since we are so well known here in the Tampa Florida area.
After 20+ years of doing business in the same city, this tends to happen
We always had better luck when we did go after new roof cleaning business years ago by advertising in the coupon magazines, and Val Pak.
There are several of these coupon magazines here in Tampa that are mailed out to homes in our area. It is true that some of the circulation goes out to apartments, and that is a total waste of your advertising dollars.
But still we found the coupon magazines to be pretty effective because they have food coupons in them, and people read, and then reread them many times, searching for the food coupons, as opposed to a direct roof cleaning flyer that gets thrown away, with all the junk mail people receive here in Tampa.
