We are making more and more money cleaning roofs here in Tampa every year. It just seems to keep getting better and better for us!
LOL, our main website was down (unknown to me) for nearly 2 weeks, and I never missed a beat.
In fact, had a customer not told me our website was down, I might have not found out, when I did.
Most days, our phones ring a lot, and sometimes, I just want to get away somewhere, and hide.
But, this is to be expected, from a roof cleaning company that has been doing the same thing, in one place, for nearly 20 years.
Here in Tampa, our roof cleaning season is just starting, unlike our Brothers up north.
It was a great year. Best one ever. It is over up here. Been cold. We do have a company up here that posts about brushing snow off the roof and then cleaning it. Course, this company is brand new, and drinks cool aid. Of course, since we have been doing this up here in the north for 5 years, we know how bad the cleaning is when it is that cold out. Then when you have moss and lichen on the roof, you will be going back in the spring.
This was a great year. 2014 will be even better as we have work already scheduled. We still have three roofs, two house washes and twelve gutter cleanouts to do before the season ends.

Are you hiring? I'll be down to give you a hand if needed!!!!
We have been improving every year. We did about 15% more business this year than last year. It's funny, I remember when I first started I couldn't give a roof cleaning away. LOL I'd say roof cleaning and they would look like a deer in the headlights. Once we started educating the home owners it took off. We don't even market any other roof types but cedar. There is an untapped market here for other types of roofs. I guess once we clean all the cedar we'll do that. Though we do get requests from realtors. As a corporation this will be the first year we have to pay the higher corporate taxes because of the net income the corporation made this year. Believe me between our lawyer and CFO we deducted everything we could legally. We are a C corporation because we do a lot of Out of State cedar work. We just shut down last week for the season. The plus is we stay on the payroll all year through the corporation. I have been doing a lot of video production and now have a Chroma key or green screen studio in my home for video production. I am going to offer marketing videos for small business services this winter to help with their branding locally. Many service providers do not like being in front of a camera/video. That's the winter project. It was a great cleaning season.
It was a good year for us again. We beat our growth goals. We still have way too much money in accounts receivables that I'm hoping will come in soon. We were power washing the inside of a car wash last week when an ice storm hit, but we're not done yet. We still have some gutter jobs and even a house wash if and when we get a little warm spell. Right now there is snow on the ground however. Bruce, I can't wait till you start pushing asphalt shingle cleaning again. We need more and more reputable companies in this market pushing roof cleaning to create awareness, it will help all of us certified roof cleaners.
It's snowing here too but I don' t think it will be more that a dusting before the rain sets in. We still have these two homes to complete. Both involve roof cleaning, house wash and gutter cleanouts. After that we will do gutter cleanouts.

LOL, it looks like a great day for roof cleaning up in the Central part of PA
The snow has been flying on and off here for a while. We are typically able to apply treatments until it drops below 30F - even with light snow. The SH instantly melts it; obviously depending on the strength.
