Am I wrong , I have been studying the forum since I became a member, hear alot about different mixes , secret mixes , etc I started using apple sauce , and apple cider , the mixes that I originally found on the fourm , and they seem to work great , The big reason that I stuck with these mixes is the bioside properties , with the borax and the tsp , which will protect the roof , from mold and mildew for a period of time , although its harder to mix powders , with hot water etc , but I do it to do the best for the coustomer , so that my roofs last longer , which in turn gets you more work, and for a 60 gal mix costs about $50 which is a good benchmark , for pricing , you get the borax and gain at wallmart Am I wrong for thinking this way Thank you ALL Dabber,

ALL that is needed to clean a roof is just SH and water, you don't even need any soap, TSP, Borax, etc, etc, etc.
However, roofs done with only sh/water just don't look as good,,as those done with the addition of a surfactant.
TSP is just about the most powerful surfactant known to man
Soaps also act to lubricate your pumps
As far as Borax goes, I have done many field experiments with adding Borax vs No Borax, and found that the Borax roofs stayed cleaner, longer.
Yes, using TSP and Borax together is a real PITA, vs just using SH/Water, or SH/Water, and a liquid soap.
However, there is no soap/surfactant that can begin to match TSP, in sheer cleaning ability.
This is quite evident, on cement tile roofs, or light colored shingles.

There is no advantage to being a premium member when everything can be read in the open forum. I dont get it.
Thanks Chris I think for the time being I will stick with the mixes that I am using now, I am open to any new mixes and ideas, But I will allways pick the way the coustomer really and truly gets the best longest lasting roof cleanning , its the only way I can sleep at night , And I have allways found you get much more work in the long run that way , Thanks to all Dabber

Marcus is a good Man, and if he says he has a secret formula, I believe him.
However, a long time ago, a company was selling information on a "roof cleaning secret" for 1000.00
They claimed this chemical, when added to the roof cleaning mix, would automatically keep roofs clean for 5 years in Florida, and even longer, in other places.
They promised "exclusive territories" as well, but made you sign a "legally binding" non disclosure agreement.
Well, they must have ripped off 1/2 of Florida with their little Scam, and got away with it for a long time because they scared people they had Scammed with legal action, if they divulged this "secret information" !
Finally, a roof cleaner in Orlando paid 1000.00 for this "secret information", added this "secret chemical" to his mix, and then did a roof he had previously cleaned w/o this "secret chemical".
Well, guess what ? The roof got dirty again in little over 1 year, just like it had before!
This roof cleaner then realized he had been scammed out of 1000.00, and blew this Scam wide open!
One of my proudest contributions to the RCIA has also helped indirectly train my local competition was my 2008 roof cleaning formula. It has received an astonishing 19,000 hits, mostly during the free days before it wisely was moved to the paid premium section of the forum.
I have since then come up with a new mix that is even better. Only problem is I don't want to post it so anyone near me will learn trade secrets.

Can't say I blame you Mike!
I too have learned the hard way, that today's "friend" can quickly turn into tomorrows enemy, in a heartbeat.
Keep it to your self. I offered to pay people for their expertise hundreds of miles away for their knowledge and they wont share. Why do it for free. you have given for free much information to get someone started in the business.
