It's cheaper buying 90 oz ($5.69) vs 44 oz($3.00) bottle (6.3 cents per oz vs. 6.8 cents per oz). Buy 12 90 oz bottles is like getting one free plus NO TAX or Delivery charge.

Eric, I switched because of it's surfactant properties, scent and cost. There are no known conditions to avoid as in chlorine, no know hazardous reactions and compatable with my roof mix. Left it for a week and it was still as hot as the day I mixed it. Here is snippet of info I cut from Wiki and also from Proctor & Gambles MSDS sheet. It has one of the highest surfactant content. It has LO (Lauramine Oxide) in it and if you purchase a 50 gallon drum, it costs a fortune.
Lauryldimethylamine oxide, also known as dodecyldimethylamine oxide or DDAO, is an amine oxidesurfactant. It is one of the most frequently-used surfactants of this type.

Having it shipped with hardly any freight, plus at a descent price sure beats having to rotate through three diferrent Family Dollar stores ... clearing their shelves on every visit. Great info.

Thanks Brother, I work hard to try and provide good roof cleaning information. I will soon be posting WHY everyone should be using Gain real soon, and the reason will absolutely BLOW YOUR MIND
Eric, Dawn was my surfactant of choice but one time I pre-mixed and let it sit for a few days. I ended up with 65 gallons of Soddium and no Hypoclorlte. Mix was dead. As a test, I had 5 gallons of leftover mix that had Gain in it. I let it sit all weekend and it was still hot. I'm not sure if Dawn has more alcohol in it than Gain (they both contain alcohol) or if it was a combo of Dawn, SH and the masking agent. I think Dawn ihas more viscosity but Gain is cheaper. Gain possibly has less LO (Loramine Oxide) making it less expensive. In the end, I guess it all comes down to personal preference.

S or H
Whats with this? S odiu m or H ypochlorit e Is this a bad word that we can't say it. Try typing it guys
Ray, I did the same test and I was real methodical and measured about it. Dawn lasted much better than Gain. I think you are definitely correct on Gain having less LO. Did you see the post about my findings? To me there is a lot of value in a thickening surfactant. I go a bit slower and use fairly small orofice tips but I virtually have no run off.

Interesting and I want to keep this thread going! (for guest's also)!
Could the Floramask be the culprit in the demise of the mix? It is suppose to be SH compatable. Here is what I saw in my tank after a pre-mix of Dawn, Floramask Green Apple and SH in a 65 gallon tank (pre-mixed less then 12 hours) --
The bottom 1/3 or the tank had a color of a slightly mudded up, watery look to it. About 1/16 of the tank had a milky layer and the rest of the tank looked normal. After driving and mixing for 10 miles to the property, I applied my Soft Wash mix the roof (asphalt) and it did nothing. The mix was trashed. I had to dump it and start a new batch.
So, if you had the results of Dawn and I had the same results with Gain in the respect of no sort of demise in the potency of the mix ... it sounds like Floramask could actually be a SH killer and not as compatible as they say!
At $80 a gallon for Floramask, I'm having fantastic results with a recommendation from a "guest" that is saving me $$$$.
