Here in Tampa, we have a TON of unlicensed, and uninsured roof cleaners, out cutting prices, and claiming to be insured. There is a lot of money in roof cleaning, and the scam artists have taken notice. Many of these scumbags will simply cut and past a fake certificate of insurance, to show to a potential customer, as proof of insurance.
We use Joe Walter Insurance, and they will actually email your customer a proof of insurance certificate! Of course, the scam artists will not be able to do this, enabling you to get the job.
Make SURE your insurance agency will do this for you, and if not, Chitcan them!
On every estimate you give, be sure and tell your customers to ask for email proof a insurance, to get rid of your hack competitors.
I've actually had my insurance company email the certificate of liability to the client while I was standing there. I usually hear " That was quick"... lol

LOL, I once had an insurance company REFUSE to email my insurance certificate, so I refused to renew with them!
After years of doing business with local companies I just made the switch to Joe Walters. Dealing with Tom and Darla is just a pleasure. They have emailed certificate copies to customers within a hour after receiving my request. I also keep a hard copy in the truck and a copy on this new phone of mine.
Serving the Pocono and Lehigh Valley(Carbon, Lehigh, Northampton, Monroe, Pike and Wayne Counties), PA community as well as both Warren and Sussex Counties of New Jersey
Hey Chris Yea here in SE fl we have tons of them the citys dont inforce the laws that keep these low lifes out , there is one city that has inforced the laws The city of E Boca Raton the cops even call you over to check your licence and insurance , so that word has got arround , no low lifes stealing , and lying to get work there, its great, but that is only one small city I wish they were all like that and should be, inforcing the law would more than pay the added cost of inforcment, when alot of these people get licenced and insured, at least that makes sense to me, they udercut me big time and alot of people go for the cheaper price, it kills you to see it , but what you said is true there are plenty of people who want it done right and by an honest licenced insured people like us at the RCIA, we just have to find them thanks for all your help Steve (Dabber)

Yeah, Tom is OK (Though I still think he is Polish).
After dealing with my insurance company for many years I almost had to make a claim. When I called my agent she said that the company that covered me had a pollution clause that they do not cover. Pollution was defined as using chemicals... I said what have you been insuring me for all this time. I did not like her answer and when I renewed my insurance in July I went with Joe Walter Insurance because he has been a supporter for Power Washers of North America for years and specializes in insurance in our line of work.
Although I'm insurred with Joe Walter, not once has a HO asked for proof of insurance. In fact, very seldom does anyone even ask if I'm insurred. BTY regardless of the type of insurance policy you have, take the time to thoroughly read it. My homeowner's insurance agent shared a tip with me. The ins company is your friend until your house burns down. Then they may not be so friendly. They send out the adjuster to look for evidence that you violated your policy so that they won't have to pay out. For example your policy might state, in fine print, you must have a working fire extinguisher in the kitchen. If the adjuster does not fine one in within the ashes you just might be out of luck!

I agree! I had a roof cleaning friend who went away from State Farm, to a cut rate company, and then had a major break in at his home.
They refused to pay, because he did not have a monitored alarm system! What good is Insurance, if it is not Insurance ?
