This is the latest news on tropical storm Andrea, as it makes roof cleaning impossible for us here in Tampa, and pretty much the entire west coast of Florida!
Andrea, the first named storm of the Atlantic Hurricane season, strengthened overnight and is forecast to make landfall along Florida's Big Bend area later today.
The National Hurricane Center has issued tropical storm warnings for a wide swath of the western coast of Florida. The system is forecast to move northeast along the eastern seaboard over the next couple of days, so the center has issued storm warnings from Georgia to Virginia.
Federal forecasters say Andrea currently has sustained winds of 60 mph and could cause a 5-foot storm surge along the Florida coast. As far as rain, they say:
"Andrea is expected to produce total rain accumulations of 3 to 6 inches over much of the Florida peninsula... eastern parts of the Florida panhandle and southeastern Georgia... with isolated maximum amounts of 10 inches possible. Total rain accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are also expected over eastern South Carolina... eastern North Carolina and southeastern Virginia."
Not much shingle washing or roof cleaning going on here in Tallahassee either! Looks like it's going to be a big soaker. Tampa has tornado watches in effect all day and 10" of rain in a short period of time is a recipie for some serious flooding!

Roof Cleaning In Tampa is impossible in this stuff! There are some tree limbs down already! We are so backed up already with tile roof cleaning work, we did not need this. Yes, Tampa will be on the backside of this storm, but that's where Tornadoes form!

Here is the latest "forecast", LOL
Rest Of Today: Tropical storm conditions possible, making the cleaning of roofs in the Tampa Bay Area impossible. Showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms may produce gusty winds. Locally heavy rainfall possible. Highs in the lower 80s. Southeast winds 20 to 25 mph with gusts to around 40 mph becoming south with 25 to 35 mph with gusts to around 50 mph in the afternoon. Chance of rain near 100 percent.
Been stuck inside all day here too. There have already been tornadoes that touched down. Not even sure if we will be able to clean any roofs here tomorrow either. They are still calling for more rain. Looks like everyone gets pushed up a few days. Oh well, long weekend for us.

We are so backed up with tile roof cleaning work Larry, it is not even funny anymore.
We just cleaned a big one on Davis Island, and he is friends with the Mayor of Tampa!
LOL, he says the Mayor needs his roof cleaned
We barely got his roof cleaned when the sky opened up, and tons of rain fell.
Wow, I have my window cracked a little, and a gust of wind blew the calendar off the wall!
My Power just came back on! It was out for awhile. I hate Tampa Electric! I pay them bastards nearly 250.00 every month, and every time we get a little wind, power goes out here!
The phone has been ringing though for roof cleaning estimates. LOL, just what I need, more work As if we are not busy enough, and can't even get the work done,, because of this current weather situation, here in Tampa Florida
We waited it out right on the job yesterday and managed to get a 3500 sq' tile roof and driveway soft-washed in Punta Gorda isles. Today, we are doing a roof in Southern Sarasota County-Sarasota, but it is already finished as of noon, so the rain didn't quite stop us-it just delayed yesterdays work, so that we spent double the time on the job and used 60% mix, with the roof already soaked and at least a light mist-sprinkle going on while we did it. It came out perfect and even though I was sure the rain would take care of all plants - gutters all around - we still set up sprinklers and flooded downspouts, just to be sure! I can't sleep at night, if I am unsure about plants! The older I get and the stronger my nervous condition gets, the more I fret! My son thinks I'm crazy to worry so much. He just hasn't realized yet, that I am ~~C~~R~~A~~Z~~Y~~

We just finished a 1200.00 tile roof cleaning up in Tampa Palms! It was bare, flat, concrete tile, with gutters all around! I jacked up the TSP, and the roof tiles came out so clean and white, you need sunglasses to look at it!
The guys just left Tampa Palms, and are heading down to east tampa, for a 2 story shingle roof cleaning in Seminole Heights.
And IF they get done soon enough, I have another one close to our home office, here in Brandon.
