Love stings I found out, did my third roof today this one was a s barroll , turned out great only took 45 min , 3,000 sq ft, coustomer loved it, Im a newbe and I guess Im not that great at spraying I got love all over my feet, soaked through my sneaker shoes, and where it rubbed got raw and stings like hell , I have a ball valve and the tips no wand, how do you wear shoes for crews (sneakers) not rubber boots and keep the love off your feet Thank You All
Fan spray 10 ft in front of you and stop spraying at your feet. You will get less run off this way and keep your shoes dry. If you buy a good pair of non slip boots (not walmart crap) you wont have a problem with wet feet and you wont have to worry about slipping on wet tile.
Hey Long Island I wish I could hire someone else to spray for me but I cant for now , but even if I did have someone I would have to train him to keep the love off him too, Love the bis
Hey New Jersey Iv been in cleanning and painting for 35 years I have slid down roofs on my bum a few times, thankfully now for a while I think I only have one more slide left, Have a good one up there Steve
I like this Guy Dabber.....two nonsense response....and he didn't cry....{ although Ed's was outta line! }
Ed is just testing for thin skin. Looks like Dabber passed.
Seriously though, I don't do many tile roofs, mainly asphalt shingle roof cleaning. No matter how much sufactant you use, your going to have a lot more run-off then asphalt 3-tab or architectural shingles. If you can reach the peak from the gutter line off the ladder, that should eliminate having to spray and walk those fragile, tile roofs. If not, shoot it all from the peaks and ridge line.
Chuck love the wand did you make it , thank you for helping us new guys, you might have been a new guy at one time, love the fourm , love the guys on the fourm, Thank you ALL Dabber
I wasn't testing. I'm just an A-hole. I found a pair of boots at Walmart that I can tolerate and don't get upset when they crap out out. I use to buy 3 pair at a clip at $35/pair. Trying to not get love on your shoes is like a hooker trying not to get...........never mind.

Yes I did make it. I was new at this in 1991. I still learn things here at RCIA though!

You have everything right Ray except shooting from the peaks. On tile roofs you have to shoot up (not down) or you miss at least an inch or more where the tiles over lap. Walk in the center of the valleys of the tile and they do not break. If the tiles are still damp from morning dew spray the area that you are going to walk in 1st. Once you spray & kill gloeoscapa magma it is no longer slippery and you can get traction to walk the roof. I also wear boots, long pants and shirts, a broad rim hat, and chlorine mask to keep the luv off of me along with the sun. I can not stress wearing a chlorine mask enough. Just asl Chris Tucker...

You are welcome Steve. Sneakers are nice and comfortable but boots give your feet more protection from the over spray of the luv. Sometimes no matter how you spray it the wind blows it all over you. None of us are bullet proof and that is why you have to dress for success and wear the proper clothing and gear. Yeah the luv and sun will not hurt you right away but it the long run it will. That is why I stress it so much. I have been there done that and do not wish anyone to have to go through melanomas (skin cancer) like I have had to go through before and what Chuck Bergman is going through now. It will seam like the end of the world and it can be prevented by wearing the right clothes. As you can see in these pics, I do not dress for comfort even when it is 90+ degrees out. If so I would be in sneakers, short pants, t-shirt, not gloves, nor mask...
