The Best Roof Cleaning Hose ?

I thought and measured it out and bought 230'. I haven't had a job it wouldn't reach so far. If I did get one, I have a connector I made, to add garden hose to it. But I've done lots of condos and businesses from their parking lots and never felt I was streatching it.

Mine is the blue hose and I like it. However, I have not tried the red or the AG hose. But I'm sure I will get around 3 years out of this blue one, with maybe 1 more hose end change out at Nappa.

Some like the smaller diameter hose, it is easier to handle. I always used the 3/4, mostly Ag Hose too, the heaviest and the stiffest of the stiff.

But, like my  good friend Chuck Bergman, I was pretty strong, in my day. Here is a picture of me, some years ago, after I had just fininshed cleaning nearly a whole small subdivision, with only my Ground Man.

Notice the forearms ? This is what a roof cleaner, who had cleaned nearly 10,000 roofs looks like biggrin

I use the 1/2" ID Kuritec. I've had it a few years and a few months ago I had new hydrolic ends put on it. Not that there was a problem, but just to stay ahead of the game. Before that I bought every type of garden hose I could find, from 20 bucks to 60 bucks and dragged them around and kept taking the kinks out [no kinking with kuritec!]
I know a lot of roof cleaners feel that the 1/2" ID hose is tough on pumps. maybe it is? My pumps [ Delavan 5gpm ] pumps probably average 7-9 months each. At $130.00 from Bob at Pressure Tek.
Even if they only last 7 months, that's only about 18 bucks a month. With a garden hose I may get a year?
But if you ever drag and slide a Kuritec 1/2" ID 200' you won't want to drag anymore garden hoses I bet!
As to output, it's no different, the tip you have on determines that.
There! Lucent for a moment. wink
Don't worry, it won't last.

5/8" ID Kuritec. I to have used garden hose before. But, kinks to much, and have even ripped one open dragging it over something sharp. Not on a job, but using a hose around the yard.

Kuritec is good roof cleaning hose, but make no mistake, it does not last as long as Ag Hose.

Ag Hose is stiff, but like a Mercedes Benz or Ford Truck, it softens up, after a month or 2 of use.

There is a better hose for roof cleaning then either Kuritec or Ag Hose, I just ain't telling ..... Yet no

And No, for God's sakes, it is NOT Polybraid!

I actually use the red kuritec in 1/2". Just rememered when I did use garden hose, and it did work,..just scary when it swelled up,..looked like it was gonna come apart at the connectins.

Also, there's seems to always be something better, it's always a matter of cost versus gain over the current "tool".

1/2" ID Blue Kuritec for me.  I am not as manly as you in my old age but I can still climb a mean roof and when I do I do not want to have to lug around any more hose than is necessary to do the job.  I want the easiest hose to work with.  Oh, by the way Chris.  Scott Davis told me to tell you & everyone on the forum hi!

I guess I'm just from the old school and like to feel like I've earned my money at the end of the day, so I use 200' of blue 3/4" AG hose. Might be a little much for some woosie's, but it helps keep this 67 yr old bionic roof cleaner in shape. With my 1" air pump, monster air compressor, and my special stainless nozzle it makes for a hell of a set-up.  That is what allows me to shoot over 70'.     Those that know------know.confuse

Well, I have decided to "have mercy" ,  and not keep people "in suspense" about what is really the best hose for roof cleaning any longer

Billy Jensen, who is a good friend of mine, and cleans probably more square footage of tile roofs then anyone you can imagine, has used this hose for over 2 years!

Billy has used both Kurritec and Ag Hose, and says this is better.

Billy is "murder" on roof cleaning hose. He cleans 2 and 3 story Tile Roofs in huge apartment complexes, where a roof cleaner is an unwanted PITA.

His hose is always getting run over and tortured by the tile roof strength chemical, and his pumps run for many HOURS a day, from sun up, till sun down.
