3/8 All Flow Pump Killers

chris, have you ever had issues with a pump not pumping? like you have to attach or unhook the air lines a few times to get it to pump again? Ive had this happen a few times, and its getting annoying lol.

Yes, simply place an on off air valve in the air line. When you turn the air off, it resets the air valve

Yamada Pumps come with a button you push, to reset the air valve. They are the only air pumps that have this.

All air pumps can stall, it is the nature of the beast. WD 40 works, so does a little Marvel Mystery Oil.

Brake fluid on the muffler on all-flows is great cleaner.

The small 3/8 All Flow and Versa Matic Roof Cleaning Pumps work really well, with smaller air compressors, like the Rigid.

The larger 1/2 inch, and even 1 inch air pumps will "work" with the Rigid type compressors. However, they will be unable to "show their stuff" like they will do, if a larger air compressor is used.

danke! thats what i was thinking.. did it today and it worked like a charm... im guessing the regulator isnt catching all the moisture and when its super cold out its icing up.....

Like Eric said, WD-40 in the air line. Instead of waiting for it to stall... I got in the habit of WD-40ing' it doing it once a week,.. (Saturday) for me,..and haven't had to "EVER" restart it because it's always ready to go. If it wasn't this easy, I'd add an inline oiler and be done with it.

Take the muffler off. You dont really need it. I havent had mine on since using it cause it was doing the same thing.

I used to shoot 2 shots of wd-40 once a week and I too took off the muffler because I wanted to hear it working.

My transfer pump is air. It was getting choked up so I took the baffle off and a bunch of ice shot out. It was super cold like dry ice (not quite).

My first air pump was a Yamada, it had a restart button installed on it,..kinda stupid really,..they should just add a set of instructions that says to oil it once in a while,..then they could do away with the button. The button isn't an engineering marvel,..the same thing is accomplished with a 1/4" ball valve.

LOL, yes, I know biggrin My 2 current roof cleaning pumps on my 2 trucks are 1/2 inch Yamada Kynar.

I got a real deal on them off Ebay! Though they are Kynar pumps, the diapragms were NOT Chlorine resistant, so I rebuilt them, and used Viton Diapragms in them

So far, over a year on them, cleaning many many roofs, mostly tile, 5 to 6 days a week, and not one problem!

This is a definite 3/8" All-Flo killer. It's my new 1" All-Flo pump. Claims to be stall free and made out of KYNAR. It is going on my new trailer that is in the process of being built as soon as business lets up a little. I can't wait to try it out.

OMG, she gave you the one with the flange connections!

I much prefer the threaded connections Marcus, because the flanges are a potential leak source.

Perhaps all the All Flow pumps in the 1 inch size ONLY come with flange connectors ?

OK, I am back now, here is the 1 inch Yamada http://www.shoppumps.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=NDP-25BVT-PP

Now, go there, and click on the larger picture link. Notice the Yamada does NOT have flanges ? It has threaded screw in connectors for the intake and output.

I can't tell you what to do Marcus, but you paid a LOT of money for that pump, and sure as heck do not need any potential leak source, to ruin you beautiful new trailer!

As an engineer, you realize the simplest fluid connection solution is always the best.

I guess you COULD simply TAP the manifold for a threaded screw in connection, BUT, you run the risk of splitting or cracking the freaking Kynar!

And, guess what ? Crack those Kynar Manifolds, and you will wish you had won the lottery, because they are EXPENSIVE!

And, please tell me, WTF are you gonna find Kynar Flanges and "chlorine proof" gaskets confuse

I feel "responsible" for this Marcus, and I am so sorry I let you down. You did tell me you planned to buy the 1 inch All Flow, and I guess I should have LOOKED at the pump.

Sometimes, I get very very busy running my roof cleaning company, and forget stuff.

However, I did know where you planned to buy that pump from, and I never imagined a mistake like this would be made.

Regardless, I accept FULL responsibility for letting you down (I will refund your RCIA membership fee, if you like), because consultations with me are part of what you pay for here.
