I like the design of the slide, but let me tell you that their is way to much black on the whole site!
I'm on an iPad and damn it is dark.
But the slide is a great addition!

Hmm... That might be an idea. Change the black in the middle??? Imagine how dark the blue and black was???

Different colors have an affect on people's minds! A lot of black is not a good thing IMO.
Picture old times, there would be the black knight on his black horse, and a white knight on a white horse. The white horse symbolizes purity and is the good guy. The black knight is evil and the bad guy.
Just a thought.

Zach, as painters we've been wearing white for too long. For our new roof cleaner site I went black too.

I say "If it ain't white, it ain't right", referring to webpages, of course.

For readability, nothing beats good old black on white, and that's why newspapers are not black with white type.

The look we have now. Barry had something to do with it. You do things within certain colors, and the blue was really fukin up my website. lol!

Barry is an artist. And he is cool too. He will bless you man. Look at Toms site!

I disagree here, the black has got to go on all sites mentioned. I feel like someone needs to turn the light on its so dark.
I won't keep chiming in because its futile but the black is a NO GO.

Huge Difference, Much more welcoming, Your defiantly going the right direction. A few more minor critiques from someone who did web design in a past life (so please don't take offense)

1) the splatter under only half your logo and then just shape line cut off... i would remove it and just leave white behind your logo, or fade it out, or better do it on the whole top of the page.

2) try to alight the text portion of the content in your graphic transition or change the style of transition,

3) change the way the blog is generating that sub menu

Looks great Mike, but if you want to know what I see. I'd say I don't like the top left Black / white letters-too black for me.
The red lettering is fine, except it doesn't need to be bigger, if it's red.
Otherwise, it's great!
