I heard it can starve the pump, we use 3/4 on the inlet and 5/8 on the outlet side.

Yep! Larger inlet then the outlet is called "flooding" the pump. That way it doesn't have to pull from the tank but is actually force fed.

"flooding" the pump...  Are you pulling from the outside at the bottom of your SH tank?  That can lead to expensive leaks.  You should always pull from the outside top of your tank with a pickup tube that extends down to the bottom.  It never leaks.

Amen to THAT ! A feed tube in the top of your tank, also acts as a kind of filter, if suspended slightly above the bottom of the tank.

Gravity tends to keep bad shit on the bottom of the tank, where flooded suction sends all that crap right into the pump.

I am using a 1" PVC tubing that I bought from Lori @ Pressure Washer Service which is slotted with a laser that filters the bad stuff from your suction tube.  It has worked great so far.

Mike, you be da man! Great post with credability and no condescending response. Not use to that lately! I use to hate ya but I'm starting to like ya..hahaha..just kidding man.

I just finished plumbing the 1/2" to the OUTLET side of the 5850 and had great results. I tried a standard $5 spray nozzzle and compared it to my multi-tip ball valve. Same results with both and no added distance. AND...as you said...the 1/2" gave me great results and not any crazy loss in distance from the 5/8".

I cut a 300' roll down to 225' (no joints/no restriction) and as you, Chris and Hank said, no problem!!! Might not look like it but the first pic is shooting up and OVER the ridge from the ground. It's all good! biggrin

Apparently nobody likes me here. I am not in charge of this event its actually being ran by one of the larger companies in south jersey and Ron Musgraves. But Ac jr, and bill booze are going to be there so the higher ups here might not approve of the rcia membership attending this round table. I could be wrong. I would hate to see AC con any good standing rcia member into buying his products that work very well. but hey thats on you. I would also think ron is going to talk about the roof cleaning certification that the uammc is promoting so that too might be a conflict of interest for you gentleman.
I understand this is a 2 day event but i will only be attending the saturday function. I hope to see you guys there it should be a blast.

Mike I think your confused! I for one am looking forward to meeting Ron, AC Bill and all the guys. Some of us don't realy care about all the Bull Shit Drama. Trust me some of the stuff is ass nine!

Ray i knew what you ment. I have been using the 1/2 yellow hose from bob with no problems and running the 5850 and that pump and hose can handle any job and run all day long. I have the battery charging off the power washer and we run our machine on a daily basis.

Ditto! Same here. We also use the slotted well point filter that we got from PWP . It has done a great job keeping trash from getting into the pump.

When is it? I'm going to vegas with my neighbor who is originaly from Bayone (he actually escaped from Bayone). He tells me there are only cops and crooks in that town. But it's nothing to make a road trip. We have done it a few times. I drop him off and I keep going to Rhody and pick him up on the way back. Shoot me some details!

Mike,

I love ya. Your my brother and don't let anyone tell you different. You've helped me so much and drove 1 1/2 hours up the turnpike to meet Dan and I last week. Things like this I don't forget. I hope to see you there.

Hank
