IM PREETY SURE I MADE A GOOD DEAL ON THIS UNIT ... My ? is do you guys think it will work ? I traded this generator (paid 50 bucks 4 it) For this 13 hp vangaurd with a annovi reveaberi 4,000 psi - 3.5 gpm pump.. Can i hook up a surface cleaner to this & do large concreate drive ways ?? I realy want a hot water skid unit but just aint in the cards right now. Ive already sold 2 jobs ( roof, house, & side walks) g each.... Do you think ill be ok with this unit
That will work with a surface cleaner and make your money back in a flash but put it back into a Honda GX 390...4 gpm if your just doing small residential stuff. The previous owner might not have taken the greatest care of that Biggs and Stratton and not changed the fluids regularly. I would beat it to death and put the money back into something new.

The only problem I see is that unit will only drive a 16"--18" max. surface cleaner. Large driveways will take a lot of time and may not be profitable. If you only target normal size residential drives you should be OK.

Agreed Gary. 18" maximum and even that might be pushing it with only 3.5 gpm
That machine will do well as it sits with a garden hose feed. If you plan on using a tank feed, the unloader and inlet need to be upgraded. The problem with the "unitized" unloaders is the passages in the inlet. They are very flow restrictive, making life harder on a direct drive pump that doesn't like to draw water anyway. With a good, straight, flooded inlet, that pump should tank draw fine. And you can run the bypass back to the tank for unlimited trigger-off time.

Great advice Russ.
We use 4 gal/ 4 k machines. Have been for years. Most all of tbe work we do is residential. Not crazy about commercial concrete cleaning. We always use an on site spigot. Our tanks are only set up for chems. We run whisper washer classics with ours and unless the homeowner has really low water pressure we are normally always ok. The machines we use are belt diven so im sure that helps as well.
