Hi my name is Jonathan I live in Mississippi, and I have notice alot of ugly, dirty, black roofs so I thought it would be a great idea to start a roof cleaning company, like most of yall I am sure, I see you guys offer classes and certificates but i dont know where I would go to take the classes or obtain the certificate. any and all help would be awesome. thanks for your time.
In a nutshell here is what is required at present;
Here is the new RCIA Certification Process
Anyone that would like to become certified by the RCIA Must first become a PREMIUM Member. (Membership is $100 per year)
Any member that would like to become certified must have a minimum of 100 valid posts on the RCIA forum.
You must then contact Garyw, and Pay $200. This is the Certification FEE.
There are 2 parts to the Certification Test. There is an online test, and a verbal or in person test.
You will be required to attend the certification Webinar/s (cost already included in Cert. FEE.)
After attending the Webinar/s, you will take a 50 question online test (Passing Grade is 75% or higher)
If you fail the online test you must wait 48hrs. Before taking the test again.
If you pass the online test you will need to contact Chris T. to schedule your Verbal Te
If you fail the Verbal test you will have to wait 1 week before you can retake the test. There is a $25.00 re-test fee payable to the instructor.
If you pass the verbal test you will then be added to the Elite RCIA Certified List. Any presently certified member will be grand-fathered from taking the verbal/in person test, but must pay and sucessfully complete the online tests. This will ensure everyone, new or old, has completed the same requirements for certificatiion
Welcome Jonathan. I hear MS and a few other states may be ditching the income tax to attract the wealthy New Yorkers like Pat and Art. Hopefully it pans out and becomes the trend.
I recommend you get with Chris Tucker for your training. In the mean time review all the posts from the past on here. You'll find that all your questions will be answered.
Gary has posted what you need to do to get started. Welcome and best regards.
Jeff you must be getting dementia. The 100 post thing went out the window about 2 years ago
Oh, I see,...So according to the rcia,..how does one become a certified roof cleaner now? Haven't paid much attention to the process the last few years.

Clean at least 50 roofs before you get certified.
Or 100 posts,..I forget,..which is it exactly??
Jeff
100 Posts was never intended to get you Certified, and is surely no substitute for roof cleaning training and experience.
The 100 posts idea was to get people INVOLVED and INTERACTING with other more experienced roof cleaners, hoping some of their knowledge and roof cleaning experience would "rub off" on our newcomers.
I still think it was a good idea, because it got people posting, networking, and making new friendships.
Now, ALL Certifications go through me.
You could have a thousand posts here, and still not get Certified, if you do not pass my verbal Test.
