I had some roof mix get on an asphalt driveway around the bottom of the gutters and across the width of the driveway. I bagged the gutters and rinsed afterwards but the custome called and said their was "chaulky" looking streaks running across the driveway. I thought I saw someone else post about the mix getting on asphalt with a remedy but my searches turn up nothing. Would my surface cleaner and 3800 psi work?
Any help highly appriciated!

It will eventually come off but not 100%. If you power wash it just use a wide tip and rinse it 3 to 4 times but it may or may not help. If you have some of ac's bleach wash try some in a inconspicuos place and see what it does. good luck.
If asphalt Is what we would call Tarmac, then the bleach has "bleached" it.
The asphalt here is an asphalt binder (crude oil) added to aggragate (crushed stone). I don't think it is bleached out but just a residule leftover from the roof mix.
I'll try the recommended pressure washing route and if that does not work, I'll go with the well respected suggestions of Ted Saunders, Ed Thompson and Larry Millette to black top seal it, make the customer happy, everyone is happy, I get a good nights sleep and tommorow is another day!

I deal with Asphalt, blacktop all of the time. Anyone know when this is occurs? So far I haven't had any issues with this, but I don't want to. If I had to correct it, sealing is the way to go.
I have left those streaks on two driveways and got lucky no one complained. That being said, No matter what you have to keep them soaked with water the entire time .....never let up keep it moving. I rode by the homes from time to time and the stains did go away after about a month...I think the driveway just got dirty again and that covered it up. I agree just reseal it and move on....but when you pull up and see one and its in good condition to great keep her soaked! If its a crappy asphalt all messed up and beaten...I dont soak it just wet it ..it's shot anyway.
Most blacktop driveways have been sealed. Our mix has stained two freshly sealed driveways in the past year. We paid to have them re-sealed, which hurt. One re-seal job still did not cover up the stain. Things that I have learned:
1. If a customer just sealed thier driveway, reschedule the roof cleaning out a couple of weeks. If a customer is thinking about sealing a driveway, tell them to do it AFTER they get thier roof cleaned.
2. If a gutter empties out on a sealed driveway, divert it away from it when flushing.
3. Water like crazy, before, during and after. You read this over and over on this site because water prevents damage.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Went by this afternoon and hit it with a wide fan tip, 3800 psi (not held close to the surface) and it came out great. Customers happy, I'm happy, life is good!
