Pat I measured the pentaflex at a 45 degree angle (ground) from what I remember (that was a year ago before I took that job in Manhattan) and shot just past the lenght of my shop which is 45ft long.

It's been snowballed for a long time. I should take it out and make sure its running!.

The 7.0gpm is a beast but I may want a smaller setup like the 5850 5gpm, I'm also thinking of building a dual pump system with those Firmco 3.8gpm Gold series pumps and use the same 5/8" hose. If so, want to be able to sometimes run together for 7.6 gpm??? not sure if thats good with 5/8" hose?

It seems like everytime we talk about distance we're all over the ball park on how to measure it.  

What about the gun being parallel to the ground and up 4' from the ground .  Measuring from the tip to where the majority ot the water drops to the ground

Then do it again so that the gun is pointed up at a 45 degree angle.  This is problably a truer measure as is is more like your spraying from the ladder.

I agree that humping around a large ladder on uneven terrain to do roof cleaning sucks but that PITA factor is incorporated in our quote. No matter what the circumstances or equipment we will be using we don't shoot from the ground. Many of the newer homes up here have uneven terrain and two to three stories as well as the dormers from hell. There are too many variables and I don't like taking chances with lack of wind control, glass, plant material, etc.. Just call me chicken little.

I have never messured the distance of my fatboy.  I have been able to reach everything with out ant problems.
