Guys, it is winter already up north (the season for me here in florida). There were members of our extended roof cleaning family missing guys, so I went and retreived them! Dave Westerman, Art Oliveri, Bill Booze, and Bruce Sullivan.
I think it is time to put aside "differences of opinions" and past "transgressions" and concentrate on the brotherhood of roof cleaning, that binds us all.
After all, which one of us is "perfect", has never done anything wrong, or has dared to have a different vision then the majority of us ?
I don't know about you, but I have missed every one of these guys, and felt they were all valuable contributors to the Forum, in the past.
Of course, I can not promise that any of these long lost members will return to everyday posting, but I have made sure they now have the ability to visit and interact with us, if they so desire.
I want it known that the RCIA is far from the "mean place" that we are sometimes made out to be, by those jealous of us, and those with hidden, self serving agendas.
This is my Forum, I own it, I run it. It shall reflect my personal values of forgiveness, and compassion for others. I have been BANNED from every cleaning forum, at one time or another, in the past.

I know how it feels to be "outside, looking in"!
That was a good read Chris. Thank you for taking the time to contact me and to try to make things right, I really apreciate that. I have been sitting on the sidelines since coming back on to RCIA. Mainly because I can't log on properly. Only coming back on a few times since I tried to log on 10 or 20 times but could never get on again. Anyway, I got back in, whew! Its not just a log in, IT'S an ADVENTURE! Well, anyway, I have been quiet mostly, just observing mostly, reading, getrting the lay of the land. See the rising stars, and the new and old troublemakers and pot stirrers. I have also seen a lot to be greatful for and a LOT of new "faces" since I chose to leave. I have had a hard time getting back one here mainly because life has moved on and time has marched on as well and many of the original members don't post much, if ever anymore it seems? I really do want to get involved in a positive way here at the RCIA but don't want to rock the boat, especially if it is staying afloat. I am just busy with other pursuits that have come into my life in place of the the RCIA. This original board was my passion and it consumed me when it was first started. I wanted to help make it the best roof cleaning board of all time. My loyalty was to Chris and to the members. Then the egos, the lies, the games, and the closed door alliances and hidden pacts and agendas started popping up and it messed up the simple vision Chris, myself and a few original members first had which was to get the best, certified roof cleaning process publized and accepted and get others back to work that were suffering without it in a sluggish economy and have a place where we, unified could have a voice and community and forum which would and could allow us a place to put all our issues and concerns and questions within the industry into one big "melting pot" and condense the best techniques and practices in the roof cleaning business in the hopes to have all of this "roof cleaning goolash" to metriculate to the top for ALL to use and benefit from. Somehow, it is unfortunate that somewhere along the way, that vision and ideal got blurred, and out of focus. Who knows maybe it is just what happens when you put hundreds of men online with testosterone and business aspirations in a forum, lol. A side effect like the Bruce Banner and the Hulk??? Well, I hope all the flack has settled and we can learn from our past, and make it a better future for the industry as a whole. That is the only reason I can see to be the driving reason for me to begin to contribute here again. I just do not know where to begin again exactly, but, here is a line in the sand, for me, personally, For me, I have to envision to hope and wish for the best for the roof cleaning industry and RCIA and its members.
I believe roof cleaning is entering a time where the government is going to stick their nose in. With all the grow in this trade, they are going to notice. And it will benefit all of us if the RCIA becomes the leader in training, not only in the cleaning, but in the safety and expertise in this area. If we do not, someone else is going too. I know some of us are against certification, some are for it. But look at some of the other industries, window cleaning, carpet cleaning, they have certs. But in order to be a cert. that means something, the RCIA will need to become a non-profit. And that takes money, With the growth of this trade, new people jumping in all the time, some soft washing, some pressure washing, there is no regulations on us. But make no mistake, the gov. is going to crack down. They always do. We need to become proactive, and make the RCIA the expert in this field. We are blessed with some of the best and smartest roof cleaners out there. True, we do not always agree on ideas and thoughts, and some times it gets rather heated. I know in my area, with the insurance last summer cracking down on dirty roofs, it has brought many new guys out saying they clean roofs. Some guys say they have never had a customer ask if they are certified, or being certified has made no difference in making a sale. It has helped me. The only way we will be able to make ourselves stand out from the lowballers is when we unite and make the RCIA the top training and certification org. in this field. What would we rather have, us setting the rules and regs. for ourselves, or someone from the gov. setting them for us ? Could you imagine having to clean roofs with rules set by someone who has no idea what is involved ? We have a chance right now with our new site getting started to become what we need to be.
This thread is about healing? I think this post would have been better without the following comments, they are not necessary. It comes across as "pot stirring "
"the new and old troublemakers and pot stirrers" "Then the egos, the lies, the games, and the closed door alliances and hidden pacts and agendas started popping up and it messed up.
Good to see Chris has a heart, I myself have not been here in awhile ,and its good to see some old faces and new ones also, we can't always agree on all topics, and theres always someone that stirs the pot at times ,thats life. Dave is a guy that has a lot of knowledge in this industry and to have Chris and Dave back together is a big plus. Yes I see the healing ,people need to stop picking at each word that is written, and spend more time on writing positive post's

"Dave is a guy that has a lot of knowledge in this industry" There is no doubt about that , and there is no doubt in Chris Tuckers decision. That being said I am not picking on each word that is written, the two statements Dave made were unambiguous. Why start posting again with negativity thats all? You are here post and move on.

You seem mad (negative) from day 1 that Dave maybe coming back, WHY ? all Dave did was help you, and what ever Dave was accused of had nothing to do with you.
Vinny I am not going to get into the "Dave thing " all over again, I voiced my opinion on here about it and so did Dave. Chris Tucker made his decision so the way I see it thats it. Again I think those "statements" not a "word or two" were helpful other then to keep "stirring the pot" and there is no need to do that. Chris wants Dave to post great.....but I don't think after two weeks it shouldn't start off negative again.

Nothing will divide a Nation (or a forum) quicker then politics. I see all us roof cleaners as one big, extended family with strong opinions.
Sometimes, in defense of these strong opinions, it causes us to draw lines in the sand. Feelings get hurt, words get spoken in anger, and then sometimes, our family becomes divided.
There is a certain breed of individual/individuals (you people know who you are) that seems to "get off" on this temporary division of our family.
To them, I say this "Never underestimate Our Brotherhood"
How many times has it seemed that the RCIA Forum was "falling apart", only to bounce back better then ever, once again ?
