Yes. It may take longer if the sun isn't out but I try and do them on a sunny day.

Pat, I also have had leftover SH the last three years that has worked the following season.

WOW ! Hell, in 2 weeks here in the Tampa Florida Sun, all u will have left is Salt Water! I know we all buy and use Clear tanks, but Black is best, as far as UV protection. U can't see into a black tank, so Yellow is actually the best compromise.

SH is effected by the temperature & UV rays.  In Houston Texas SH usually lasts about a weak if left in the shade before it starts loosing potentcy and eventually turns back to salt water.  When fresh it should be bright yellow and it slowy gets darker and looks ranker...

I have found that the temperature inside your SH tank is cooler when painted metallic chrome instead of black which is much better than clear.  Metallic chrome reflects most UV rays & heat rays.   Black only blocks UV rays.  You have to constantly repaint the tank if any SH gets splashed on it the paint it will dull and not reflect UV rays & heat rays.

Marcus has a good point but I believe white is more efficient than even chrome. Also there are different types of paints that may be more beneficial in UV and heat transfer, elastomeric (rubberized) paint is thick and a good insulator and even better is ceramic based paints that are much higher insulators. Also I would tape off a stripe on a clear tank so you can see and put gallon markings on that DOT inspectors and yourself can determine how much is in your tank.

If you click on metallic chrome in either post you will see that my tank was taped off to create a stripe on gradiated sides so that you can mix a solution and see how much is left.

Chrome or reflective paint has the highest radiant barrier rating.  That is why propane tanks are painted silver and attics are sprayed with aluminum particles for radiant barriers.

PAsoftwash LLC is taking this opportunity to let our neighbors know we are still available for professional roof and exterior cleaning. We now have an additive that allows us to super heat our roof and house cleaning solutions so they clean effectively in temperatures down to 38 degrees.

When we did this project, the sun was shining but we had to wait for the heavy frost to evaporate before we could clean the roof.

We used our typical mix with the additive and were able to restore this building's curb appeal and stop the relentless attack by Gloecapsa Magma, Lichen and Roof Moss even though it was such a cold day.

we used it last week the day was a balmy 39 degrees and the roof was covered in stains etc. we added 4 oz to a 50 gallon mix and it really cleaned up nice. It does work slower at such temprratures but it really did work. we added it to a 20- 25%mix ratio so we think it saves sh and allows us to work in such nice weather... when i got some overspray on me it really did burn quick so i assume it super heated the mix we have some more roofs this werk so we will use it again.

I posted a picture a while back of a 50 gal tank I painted red and taped off the gallon markings so I could see, The other tank on my truck is yellow from the factory. They seem to work fine but certainly do not have the heat you have in the south.
