There have been so many where do I start, I guess you could say the one's I made twice.

Not cutting a deal for a competitors website that getting out of the business comes to mind.

Field stuff is a learning in progress. SH can bleach out translucent stains, too strong of butyl can leave marks on screens, Outlet's need tape, zero nozzle can dent siding while not being patient for the chemicals to dwell, and assuming a logical value service would be hard to sell to owners of larger homes.

Assuming anything will go well if you take shortcuts and making employees care about customer sanctification when you not there go hand in hand.

Is that enough karma to let the next 6-7 weeks go well

I over shot a rather large roof with my nozzle (which shoots almost 50 feet, yes I said it again) and I got some love on the rear deck which was made of Mahogany and was at least worth $30,000. It was speckled all over. I had to clean the whole thing and the owner ended up loving it because it looked brand new again. I got lucky, this was in my first 15 roofs and a big rookie mistake.

Here's one mistake that is still causing me problems 2 months later.... Had a bear of a roof 14/12, and had to straddle roof peak. Wound up with a chem burn that stretched from the "boys" to the top of my buttocks. Wound up with a staph infection four weeks later, antibiotics for infection caused my ulcerative colitis to flare up....

Avoid those chem burns at all costs!

You GOT to watch those expensive wood doors! My guys were careless once, and stripped some of the stain right off a pair of 5 thousand dollar french doors!

It was just spotted, but still, the guy was a prick! Had to pay to have them refinished!

Fish Ponds are always Fun too, and  found out the hard way, people get attached to their Koi Fish, and they ain't cheap to replace!

Wood doors that are varnished or have a shellac finish are a problem too.  The varnish or shellac will peel and leave a horrible finish.

Brass & Bronze door knobs, locks, & door bells are ruined by SH...   Brasso will not even polish it back.

Yes KOI fish are expensive and are very loved by their owners.  I cleaned a good friend of mines roof and accidently got some in his KOI pond.  He has not let me ever forget it.

I was on a typical barrel tile roof that had been glazed and had alot of alae growth. I had never had a problem with traction because I always wear slip-resistant shoes. But after i sprayed one coat on the roof, it turned to slime on top of a glazed roof and I ended up on my belly sliding down. I called to my ground guy (who was in perfect position to at least not let my head hit the ground) and he was ready. Fortunately there was very little slack in my hose and it stopped me 2/3 of the way down the roof. I jnever chance it anymore, I'll wear a harness before I try that perfect storm of a slippery roof again.

Heres my 2 cents on fish ponds.

We use a large beach ball, blue WalMart tarp (very cheap) and tent spikes. Place inflated beach ball in pond, cover pond with tarp and spike tarp at corners.

How close to the houses are these ponds? I have done 2 jobs with Koi, one the gutters floated into a massive pond, 50ft by 30ft.  I purposefully clogged the gutters and flooded them.  The other job the Koi pond was 30 ft away from the home.

Are you killing these fish because a light mist gets into the pond? or because gutters drain into them? I would think a house wash mix wouldn't even bother the fish.

Dan, I never said I killed any fish and I do this as a preventative messure. Read my post below. I posted it almost one year to the day (Oct 19th, 2011)  Lily pads and other pond vegetation are pretty delicate and any overspray would most likely fry them. I don't like to take chances and it only takes a few minutes to do this.

Yaya my fatboy shoots pretty far too still its more like 38.  But I have also speckled a Deck before this guy was 84 and doesn't go out there often. Generally if a problem happens like this, I tell the HO and they will say either let it go or spray the whole thing.
