Yes I'm am not spearheading this and in a business it must pay for the things it needs to stay running and legit. How much could it cost per month to run this place at most 200 a month?

When I spoke to this guy he was really concerned about BBB complaints. They are free to file, so why not.

THis seems like a better course of action. The Hall Of Shame will simply give the idiots a super relevant page rank 3 LINK on the forum, and work TO their advantage, not against it!

A Better way to protect us is this. Every certified member could simply place this warning on their webpages "Caution, there are hacks out there claiming to be RCIA Certified Roof Cleaners - Click Here - to be sure you are really hiring an RCIA Certified Roof Cleaner."

Now, the Click Here will be a Link back to the State your are in Certified Roof Cleaners Directory. It is real simple, IF the Hack is not in the directory, he is not certified. End of Story!

Guys, Tampa, and Florida in general, has long been "The Wild West" of roof cleaning. People down here commonly claim both Angies Lists Super Service Awards and BBB Membership and accrediation, because guess what ?

They KNOW all they are gonna get is a letter "demanding they stop". Do not forget, many hacks are active drug addicts/alcohlics, many with Prison Records! They aint Skeered one bit by expensive civil litigation. Most, if not many, have faced serious Felony charges, at one time. They will LAUGH at a letter from a lawyer.

BUT, if we make them look bad, by exposing their phoney certifications. THAT will cost them money. And, costing them MONEY, will make them stop much faster, then any "slap on the wrist" expensive legal chit the RCIA can muster.

If the logo was registered or trademarked then all that would be needed is the certificate sent to godaddy and they would be shut down.

Again, if the logo was trademarked, there would be no website to speak. Go daddy has nothing to go by therefore will not take action. Website down is certain death. It sounds like the logo aint worth protecting.

Go Daddy is a stand UP company ED. Unfortunately, many of these hack websites are NOT on Go Daddy! Then what ?

I STILL think, no matter what, all certified roof cleaners should consider doing what I suggested.

You may want to find out where Gary left off. If you could prove that you're the owner and/or in charge of certification, and this guy is not certified, you may get GD to react and shut him down.

The great thing is that if he gets shut down, there is no one to call. The copyright and tm department corresponds only through email. This guy will have to make changes and have them approved by the person who he infringed upon. Then it will be up to you to contact GD and let them know you re satisfied. Then they will reinstate his acct. Its a crappy process if youre on tbe chitty end of the stick.

JJust found another roof cleaner in NJ sporting the certified logo and they are not certified. Dan from pristine roof clean. I now see no reason for me to re up my cert.

Dan from Pristine used to be certified, he just didn't pay the one time re-cert fee, so he got his title pulled. Anyone certified prior to 4-1-11 had to pay the one time re-cert fee. Once paid, you're good forever, or until we change the rules again biggrin biggrin biggrin

Also he is a good example of why the certification isn't that strongly supported thruout our industry. If he is considered certified then I must be superman certified.
