I love the ones who cry "what do you mean 500.00 to clean my roof, Joe down the street got his cleaned for 400.00 last month"
You ask to see the invoice, and 9 times out of 10 you will see a 400.00 roof cleaning, but they charged 250.00 for a 125.00 house wash, then charged 125.00 for a 75.00 driveway wash!
It is very common here in Tampa to low ball the roof cleaning. but sock it to the customer on everything else. Some call it "Upselling", some call it bait and switch.
I love when people ask for a breakdown of the quote. Ok....Roof $525, House $250, gutter cleaning $100. Total $875.00 + tx. Then they tell you " let's just go with the gutters for now". No problem ma'am/sir, that'll be $275.00 +tx. They tend to find that quite the conspiracy.
Then, we have the Lizards, and I have seen them here in Tampa.
One day, we were out cleaning roofs in a community with several retention ponds (man made lakes)
We saw a giant green Lizard with a chest on it like a Pit Bull. It was easily 5 feet long. We called animal control, but it took off before they got there.
Check these Florida invasive lizards out, and watch how fast it attacks a Dog!
What are you trying to do in this forum, scare your competition away! Pythons, lizards, alligators, man what is next? A contractor needs full armor to live down in FL. Man!

They are all over South Florida, and Tampa will be seeing more and more of them. They can climb, and I just worry about running into one cleaning gutters, or a roof.
Imagine one is in a gutter, and you start spraying the non pressure cleaning chemicals. The run off hits the gutter, and one of these highly pissed off suckers puts 2 and 2 together, and figures out YOU did it.
They come after you on a steep roof, and they have 4 legs, you only have 2.
If one comes after me, I will spray it with the chemical, hope for the best.
The only time I will clean gutters is when I'm cleaning a roof! No one wants to pay for them otherwise. I figure if I have to get on the roof anyways, I may as well offer the gutters as an add on. The bottom line is, how much! Sometimes to get the whole deal, the roof, the house, and the gutters, you have to give them a break or they won't go for it!
Thanks Chris! Maybe I won't be moving to FL ! Wow! Nasty little critters down south! I still look forward to working the whole year instead of 6 mos! Man that really sucks when you own a pressure washing business in MN!
What do you do in the winter time? Do you plow, or just twirl your thumbs waiting for spring? In 2010-11 when we had all that snow, I did some Ice dams! Man was that good money!

Well, down here, people need to have their gutters cleaned. If you click here, you can see we have a gutter cleaning page on our website.
Our minumum charge to clean gutters is 150.00, and a lot of the time we can do a whole house for that, it depends.
It is very competitive here in Tampa, and we always try to give our customers the best deal we can, and stay in business.
