Eric, I have mine hooked up to my pressure washers' battery so when I pressure wash I'm re-charging the battery.

Thats a great idea. I would like to trickle charge it when the truck is sitting so it is ready to go all the time. I use a 5850 to water plants and house when cleaning the roof, by the time I do 2 roofs the battery is low.

You could still use a trickle charger. Hook the battery for the pump and your pressure washer together, or even the truck battery, and when they are being run both batteries are being charged. Same situation as duel batteries on a diesel. When you get home, plug in the trickle charge and let it run overnite. Always full and ready to go.

I used to run my fat boy and the message sign all day and batteries never went low. 2 batteries together will run 3-4 longer than 1 by itself. Right now I've got an extra battery wired in series to the truck batteries to get 24 volt to start the air compressor, and a 12 volt plug there also to power the fatboy for chemical trans. confuse confuse

I use a ProMariner Pro Tournament 150 Triple to charge the 3 batteries on my trailer. It gets the batteries peak charged real fast then it trickle charges them overnight and desulfides the batteries (to make them last longer). I hook it up every night and it has never failed me. It is completely sealed and can even tell you how much battery on each battery that you have left. It is not cheap at $290 but how much is your downtime due to a dead battery worth.

I am going to go with solar so it will charge while I am not using the truck. I feel this will work best for me, Thanks for all the advise.

i would just hardwire from the pressure washer battery to the other battery for the 12 volt pumps. Ed Thompson told me about it and i did it and i no longer have to charge my battery.
