Steel buffer tank?

Has anyone ever used a steel tank (fluid tranfer tank) for a buffer tank? Was rust a problem?  Although spendy as can be, one of those "L" shaped steal, truck mounted transfer tanks would really be a space saver.  Not to mention be very professional in appearance.

Any fist had experience to pass along?  I don't want to experiment as it could be an $800 mistake.

This is for another rig that will be coming together very soon.

I believe those tanks are meant for gas or diesel.

Are you using open trailers or another bucket truck.

This solves the rust concern (if it's a concern at all).  It's just not as strong as steel.

I think you should stick to what works and go poly. I could see steel rusting out from sitting water. Also if you have chlorine on the trailer then it will rust the outside up just from the gases.

Likely, yet if they hold up to water, they could be a major space savor.  I've found an aluminium version BUT it has an intergated storage box that takes up the otherwise additional storage area.   I need to look a bit more for an "L" tank in aluminium.....

Are you going to be working where there is no water? If not then you could use a 50 gallon tank as a buffer for upto an 5.5 gpm machine.

Thats alot of scratch to save on some room. I guess to properly know what would work best for you would be to know exactly what your going to do as far as what machine your using and where it will be going. I understand if you dont want to post on here but give me a pm and we can get this thing figured out.
