I use the ridge hooks alot. Very helpful with chimney sweeping. The wheels on the that particular hook swivel, so you have to be careful because the ladder can swivel sideways and roll down the roof as you are pushing the ladder up to set in in place..... it's kinda hard to explain what I mean... but it sucks. I replaced the swivel with a non swivel wheel and it works much better. You have to be careful with some roof vents because they can get crushed when using a ridge hook. All in all... a must have for any roof walkers.

Mine doesn't swivel but it can wander left or righ a foot while rolling it up. I only use one on a ladder not two like he used.

In my location, Menards sell these for $19.99, I have seen them as much as $50.00 each. I going to give it a try.

I have cleaned many a roof using a chicken ladder, just never one with wheels.

With wheels is the way to go, just glide it up and then flip.
They can get you up to some tough areas.

My concern is the ridge vent. Is there a company that makes a longer hook so it makes contact at a lower point below the ridge vents?

Or is this a non-issue most of the time?
