Masking Scents...
two things I have found that work pretty well
1) Green Wash
2) Spa Fragrances from Pinch a Penny.... and they are SH stable!!!!!

On jobs where I want the scent covered up I drop an 8 OZ bottle of the wintergreen fragrance into a 100 Gallons of roof mix ( about $6.99) and it works like a charm.

 Ray,

Does it do anything crazy with the mix being they are moisturizers & colored? Does the mix have a harder time rinsing clean?

Joe, I've never noticed a problem. It doens;t do a 100% job of covering the SH, but certainly cuts the smell down a great deal.

Friday I ordered some green apple from Xterior in N.C. Guy was cool, told him I would love to have it by Tuesday, he said he would give it his best shot. Around 5pm tonight it was at my door and already in the mix for tomorrow! Now thats pretty good service if you ask me!

Dan,  Floromask produces "Green Apple" and they are out of Jacksonville, FL but only sell 50 drums.

Xterior is a vendor and sells this in smaller quantities and they are located in N.C. I have posted their number below. For some reason, they do not have it listed on their site but they take phone orders. This is VERY concentrated and only takes a few ounces to take the edge off 50 gallons of roof mix (30/70).

It is not diluted or watered down like the vendor from Tampa used to do (not going to name names but they also sell pressure washing and roof cleaning equipment )and they are now black listed from selling this product because they were nailed watering it down.

It cost's around $25 per quart and they also sell by the gallon (you'll have to call for price on that). I have been ordering from Xterior for a while and they have never let me down. Service is great and quick delivery.

Hope this helps you out, Ray

Thanks Ray, I'm gonna check it out, I never really worry about masking the smell, but there are some commercial jobs where it maybe a good idea.

Dan

Heres is what I can tell you. I have used green apple in the past and found it to be expensive because like another member stated on here it seemed I had to use more then the recommended amount to mask the smell. But I did need somthing and the alternatives were even more expensive and didn't do the trick. So the guy from exterior told me about 8oz in a 40 gal tank. { I use three 40 gal tanks...it works for me } So last nite I filled to and dropped 8oz in each. The first house today I was skeptical if 8 oz would do it, but to my suprise it smelt perfect I was pumped 8 oz did the job. But at the second house I smelt a unfavorable smell.....some Sh and just not what I had on the first house and I couldn't figure it out. Then it hit me, the second home I added arm and hammer soap because the roof was steep and it must have neutralized the Green Apple or just messed up the scent so you need to use a soap with no odor. Thats' the trick!
