If i was you i would go for a 6x12 trailer.

Yes it makes it stronger, but does not increase the load carrying capacity. If you are going to pull it with your f150 you probably need brakes. If you had a REAL truck like mine you would not need brakes. Brakes are only for toy trucks. biggrin

ok gary i have a f250 and i still prefer brakes #1 becuase its the only leagal way to drive a dual axle trailer in new jersey and its safer. I want and have had zero accidents and i want to keep it that way.

that trailer need a whole box under neath to be built and turn the tounge into an A frame. A 5000 llb axle will work but your looking at 500-600 worth of work including the New axle.

plus he needs to increase the load capacity not make it stronger you make no sense.

Ok I get the A frame tounge! I get the axel, box underneath?

Every space on this trailer will be maxed out. And most times I'll just carry less than 100 gallons. The 300 tank is when I need to bring all the water to the site.

The reason a short trailer: is some of the houses I have to go to, Honestly a longer trailer you would Not get in and out.

That whole trailer looks lite weight to me. Sorry, but cheaply made, baby tires and wheels, and probably weak axels and springs. You would be better of selling that to somebody needing one for 2 small lawn mowers, and buying something to fit your purpose. Buy it right the first time and forget about it.

mike i have the same problem sometimes but 2ft will not make that much of difference. Look for a 5X10.

Mike, spend your money on a dual axle trailer, either 14' or 16'. Its not safe hauling that kind of weight on a light weight trailer or a trailer with no brakes. Now, if you are riding with the tank empty and just filling on site, you will be fine. Keep in mind the trailer is only rated for a certain weight capacity. If you are pulled over by DOT, you will be fined and most likely forced to have it towed. Maryland DOT is out enforcing heavy, generating more revenue for our governer to spend. Most importantly, you don't want something to break, which could result in hurting someone else on the road.

Ive got alot to think about, thanks for everyones help. I dont want to buy another trailer, but is what it is. Those extra 2 feet. It's 2 feet too much, I have to fit it all in 8 ft. Trailer brakes??? How much that cost to add to truck? Maybe a pipe dream, just not ready to go 300 gallon yet. I'll still get the tank and throw it in back yard for next year!!!!

Be watching for this lil bad azz trailer to be up and running with hot water this year. Minus a 300 gal tank.

Chris is that them same cops pulling over dump trucks and weighing them? every day I see that!!!

mike seriously if you can fit 8ft then you can do 10. I know its scary to put out the money but once you get it you'll be set. Trust me i had the same concerns but i do not regret getting the bigger trailer and niether will you. It cost about 60-100 to add the brake control and the 6 pin plug to your truck.

Yep, thats them. If you can keep your smaller trailer, with smaller tanks, you're probably better off. In Maryland, once your combined registered weight (truck and trailer) exceeds 10,000lbs, you are subject to being pulled over by DOT, must stop at all truck scales, have road flares and triangles, fire extinguisher, DOT physical card, DOT numbers and follow a list of regulations. This is exactly why AC built a skid unit that fits in the bed of a 1/2 or 3/4 ton truck. It's under 10,000lbs and under the radar.

Mike,

Why don't you just use the same trailer and carry a 100 and a 50 gallon tank. Fill the 100 gallon up with straight SH then have a empty 50 gallon for mixing on the job? No mix will go bad, your only carrying 1000 lbs, get better gas mileage. confuse

well i believe he was using the 300 gallon tank as a buffer tank. So he still needs a buffer plus a mix tank plus a straight sh tank.
