What's should the minium temperature be to clean barrel tile with ease?
I know we don't have much tile up North and you guys in the south don't know what cold is?
I probably got a big tile job to clean, so I don't want to spin my wheels trying to clean it in the cold if it wont clean easy. I think I remember Chris T saying it should be atleast 60 degrees or something??

Nah you can wash that. But you are going to use more soap. Adjust mix for temps, and age of the sh, plus tile roofs use a stronger mix. So it got to be pretty strong. Never done a tile roof, That's all I know.
At supply company today, asked how fresh sh. Told same chit I bout month ago and that was getting old. That gonna change real soon! Fresh soap!

No Clyde you got that wrong. Italked to you on the phone and I chatted online with Mike. It was good talking and chatting with both of you roof cleaners.
We been cleaning in the mid 40's, takes more roof mix, and might dial up the % a little. We have been getting good results. I have thought about pre-wetting with a little warm water to open up the shingles a little and to remove the frost, maybe about 100-110 degrees.
Tile Roofs are very tricky to Clean in cold weather. It is always best to let the sun warm them up to at least 55-60 degrees before applying the Chems. Anything colder than that and your just wasting your material and YOUR money.

That is the correct tile roof cleaning answer in my book and why waste the money unless you are overloaded with roof cleaning work which would be unusual this time of year.

We have one to do today. It is 60 degrees outside right now at 9 am.
We will wait until 1 pm today, it will be 75 degrees out. When it comes to tile roofs, the warmer the better. Coldest one I ever did was at 45 degrees, it was a bare concrete barrel tile roof. It required puttin the chemical on "in coats" and waiting nearly 1/2 an hour in between coats. You want a LOT of surfactant and/or baking soap in your mix, the surfactant for dwell time, and the baking soap for brute force cleaning power.
