I talked to our Township code enforcer office today and asked him if their were any restrictions on sign holding or size of sign, he said no!
however he did warn me about parking your company vehicle in parking lots of places of businesses for advertising purposes, he said he already got a complaint about me taking up two parking spots in a small plaza where I park in front of a busy street.
I told him honestly, that is where I eat pancakes every single morning, so he said ok then its not a problem.
I'd rather get permission from the authorities instead of finding out the hard way! we have strict ordinance here where I live.
One time I went and plastered signs all over town, and the very next morning I got a call from the township I was told to remove them immediately, which I did.
we are not even allowed to have a yard sign up with out getting a permit.
Some towns are like that, so I have nice BIG banners on my trailers. You can't use a job sign but they can't say anything about a big trailer with banners!
I never was big a putting job signs out any way, the customers don't want them in their yards either. the next best thing is to leave a business card with the neighbors.
I'm in the process of having some door hangers made so I can leave those around the neighborhood of the job I am on. That is of course if they don't answer the door.

Zach good idea, you might want to leave a space on the door hanger saying you just completed a job at such and such address?

I just might do that, or I could just write "call.... Or else"
Haha just kidding

Zach their is so many things for us to do but some how we don't do them.
1) once you have a job scheduled we should send a post card out to the neighbors telling them that we are going to be working in their neighborhood
2) knock on the doors once we get their
3) send them another post card telling them we just completed their neighbors
