It should be based off the amount of roofs you have cleaned not post count. I would say after 10 roofs and before and after pictures along with taking the test(both written and verbal) then you should be qualified for certification. Also a copy of insurance and any state license that is required. These are just my opinions and suggestions.

I partially agree, but then you run into the problem of who's going to enforce and patrol those requirements? The RCIA Police Dept. flying around the country on the RCIA Lear Jet. I'll volunteer !! J/K

I have been in business since 1992. At one time I employed 13 full time employees. I carry 2 million in contractor liability insurance. I am a CSIA Certified Chimney Expert. I take personal pride in my business and continuing education. Yes, the 100 post criteria seems a lil funny to me.... but hey, I'm the new guy here..... so who am I to question anything. If everyone else here followed those guidelines..... than I WILL DO the same ! Thanks for the opportunity ! ! ! :)

LOL, I been a member since 2008 and have done many roofs and I'am not one who gets in to the posting unless there's a must. Just recently Ive posted a few but still have no ambition to reach the 100 posts and basically have no concern about the certification. I wouldn't mine having the cert. but I can tell you that HO only look at price and experience so I do agree with Mike with this one. Just my two cents.

Certification is another tool for you to use. You need to implement it, you can't just get certified and never mention it to anyone.

I am a member of a truly GREAT Organization the CSIA .

I think it would benefit all to check out the website.

It is an excellent model for exactly what I hope the RCIA can become.

I have been around this forum for a long time, just reading and watching the drama. I finally decided to join in hopes that there was indeed a future here.

I am excited at the possibilities for this Organization. This Industry is in the Infancy Stage (Outside of Florida) and a homeowner geared website full of legitimate information is definitely needed to educate potential customers about this industry.

I am looking forward to growing this Organization and helping in any way.

Being certified is more important now that it ever has been. You may not think you need it, or think you don't want it, but that is the ONLY way you are going to get listed in the directory here and on the .org site. Now do you see how important being certified is going to become. It is a very small cost for the potential return you can experience rom being certified.

Get with the program.

I might serve up some reconsideration on the 100 posts, I don't think it really accomplishes any real quality objectives, but I will comply.

After you have read numerous posts on different subjects and responded to or started posts on your own,(100 POSTS) you will have a broader knowledge of what and how this industry works. Post count is like secondary education as you were growing up. Look at the members who have been here for years and have cleaned 1000's of roofs and have posted 1000's of posts, then took the recert test. The highest score so far is a 94. Which is a fine score, but goes to show you how impooirtant reading and making posts are importamt to your education. JMHO

The hundred post also helps in other members getting to know you, to see that you are committed and not just a " fly by niter " making them more comfortable helping and sharing.

The 100 posts has helped me learn alot, Getting certified was and is important to me, however reading and searching in my opinion is more important.

Thanks Gary, But it is true. Mike your light years infront of were I'm at. I only posted from a Newbies point of veiw. Not to side track the tread, but that trailers rocks. The trailer alone will send a message to your customers.

I just try to make them relevant vs. hitting the quota of 100, if I say good post 30 times, or way to go Ed!! what does it accomplish?
no biggie, not telling the elders how to run the show or board, just my perspective. I'm just not a bla, bla person by nature. 35 to go.
If this one stays alive, I might be able to test next week.
