I've been bouncing this idea around, what kind of money would you pay them?

That's a good idea, I have thought about having people to just sell jobs for me by Cold Calling. Although, I am sure they would be much more happily received if they are just trying to give away free demonstrations.

Straight Commission, I paid them 10 percent, so, for a 500.00 roof, they got 50 dollars, and 100.00 for a 1000.00 roof.

It was always negotiable, in case I had to match a lower bid.

These canvassers are EASY to find, and since all you are asking them to do is "give away" free demos with no selling involved, they like it!

All they need to do is give away free Demos by getting the persons contact info, address, best time when they will be at home, etc, etc.

My ad read like this.

Canvassers Wanted

Give Away Free Service To Homeowners

Blue Jean Job, easy money, cash paid daily, work your own hours, No Selling. Have Fun, and Get Paid!

Only after we sold a job, but most buy once you do a Demo, especially if you shoot a spot in the center of the roof.

Yes, a help wanted ad on Craigslist is FREE biggrin

It is a straight commission job, but you can help out with the Gas expenses.

When you place the ad for Canvassers Wanted, stress the NO SELLING aspect of the job. Back in the early days of Florida Roof Cleaning, when I had to build a market for NON Pressure roof cleaning, I had Canvassers making decent money.

LOL, I had to start paying every 2 weeks with some of my Canvassers, because as soon as I paid some of them, it was Party Time (They disappeared)

LOL, I TRY to tell you people how to build a successful roof cleaning business, from someone who has actually done it, but few of you actually listen.

You just insist on littering peoples property with Flyers, or relying on someone else to bring you work, by various means.

Fact - There is nothing that will educate your customers as well, or bring you as much work, as a free roof cleaning demonstration on your customers home.

Someone must carry the roof cleaning message to your potential customers. So, unless you have a lot of money for TV Advertising, or blanketing an area with direct mail pieces, etc, etc, YOU must do it, or hire someone who will.
