Who's cleaning windows?

Hey Phil- Yep, I added window cleaning this year.... Spent some $$$$ for a 35' Gardener carbon fiber water fed pole and DI tank for the exterior windows... Just starting to advertise the window cleaning..... It's not gangbusters yet, but, we'll see how the market demand is for windows over the winter.... Bob

Here in south Carolina, not really. It will sometimes go down below freezing overnight, but if it's that cold during the day, I'm not going to be out working in it!

haha, fair enough! I'd love to get a WFP, but dag on they are EXPENSIVE! I did spend some money on nice squeegees, strip washers, bucket on a belt, scrim and that kind of thing.. The technique definitely takes some getting used to, at least for me.

We do some window cleaning, but for us, it seems to be more in demand at the beginning of the season. Of course, we tend to market roof cleaning and house washing fairly heavy and use window cleaning as an add on.

I know of a few guys who do window cleaning but mostly commercial store fronts quick in and out $35 -$50/wk per store for 15 mins. of work. Got several stores in a line, its a good $100+ in an hr.

The alcohol or ammonia in the mix keeps it from freezing.

It's a good way to add on awning cleaning as well as occasional store front (esp stucco/brick) cleaning

Good stuff, guys.

I went to a Duron store in my area to see about quoting them for window cleaning, they said they pay $20 per cleaning. That is so LITTLE money, but I guess if you strung along several in a row, it would be good money.

Window cleaning is our bread & butter. It's a short brutal season for us though. 3 months of non-stop mayhem. It's way slow by august and we've actually been investing in roof cleaning to take us through the off season. But, in the dead of winter up here I'd rather be traveling.

I clean windows all the time I was a manager at a gentlemans club in austin years ago and got really good cleaning all those mirrors so when I started my pressure washing thing a few years ago it was a natural addition for me

both but keep in mind there is nothing over 3 stories here so i'm not hanging off the side of any hi-rise office buildings
