I was the one who said we will do 1000 this year and we will. Just read this post and looked at my books before I replied and we are at 987. Yes I have 2 trucks on the road 5-6 days a week and they eash average 10 roofs a week plus other exterior cleaning. I understand there were people on here bragging about how busy they were earlier this year and now they are out of business. I don't come on here to brag or argue or play into any of the drama. There are a handful of guys on here who know me and know about my company and that im not full of it like others have been. Anyone who is slow this winter and would like to come tag along for a couple days feel free. O and by the way Happy Thanksgiving. !!!!!

I think that great that you are that busy just in roofs. What would you say the average price you get for roof cleaning? Are you that busy because you are pretty inexpensive?
We do more than just roofs. I would say about 50% of our jobs are exterior cleanings to go along with the roof cleaning. We do TONS of screen enclosures. I'm not the cheapest by any means, usually the high or middle guy. There are only 2 other companies that clean roofs the right way in my area and they are busy also.. I have educated this area (Melbourne Florida ) very well over the years and they know to stay away from the pressure washer guys who try to clean roofs. Every community here has a home owners asst. and like Chris said about Orlando in the 90s how they really tried to keep it clean, they are doing the same thing here now. Melbourne and the surrounding towns are growing fast and these HOAs really crack down on the residents by sending letters telling them to clean up their homes or they will get fined so that keeps us very busy.

well i have to say that after thinking about it i have to agree with you on this. I regret hiring AC for the excursion. I got alot of good ideas back from the 90's but today things are so different. I definetly increased my sales by using him but not like he said they were going to be. He promised alot but only delivered on less than half. Besides all the little"secrets he gave us" he has already given about 98% of them away on his soft wash forum. I should have just waited. Live and learn. I have definetly learned this year that you have to make some mistakes(not alot) to learn what works and what dosen't in this crazy business.
We did just around 214 roofs this year and i believe we will hit the 300-350 mark next year.
And the hits keep coming. Badmouth a guy who is not allowed to come on and defend himself. NOT trying to start anything just saying its like punching a guy in handcuffs. I have no problem with someone who is unhappy speaking his mind. That is what BBs are for. I just think a person should be able to defend his position. There could be dynamics involved that others dont know about. IDK Just sayin.
Rodney, I am not saying anything bad about AC. All im saying is that half his program was based on a company that could operate 12 months out of the yr( not to easy in new jersey). The second thing is that alot of what he gave me he had webinars that would have cost me 4-600 instead of what i paid. If it sounded like i was bad mouthing him them o well. ( i wasn't) A C is one of the best salesman that i know and he definetly helped my company do more sales and for that i thank him but the business plan that was set up for me was just way out of reach as far as how much it would cost me.
Personally, I believe quality will trump quanity anyday. To me it is better to get top dollar for your work and have a professional service and be known for such.
This is the best economy right now for our service. The last thing a home owner wants to do is put on a new roof in this economy.
Wow, how many roofs cleaned in tampa for us last year ? Well, more then 500 roof cleaned, and less then 1000, somewhere in there. Thats about all the roof cleanings you can do, running only the one truck. My Son cleans the roofs, and I care for our customers plants. Like Larry, I am not 20 years old anymore, not even 40 Heck, I am pushing 60 years old, too old to be climbing roofs anymore. Besides, it is hot here in Tampa anyway, w/o climbing on the roof.
We should look first at ourselves and our own goals.

Funny how it all adds up... Been p with our numbers from January through august of 2011. We changed up some record keeping in September , so don't have those figures handy.
For the first 8 months we cleaned 147 houses, 83 roofs, and 710,000 sqf for commercial properties. One truck...planning on expansion, though!

Here in the Albany Ny market we did 9 roofs all summer long. This market sucks no one wants the service. When they do you can't get more than $100. Where do I get my money back.

I hear you Jim it is tough out there with this economy. We know what happens when you put off cleaning the roof, many people wish they did it a year or two earlier. This year the Ins. company's really banging home owners to get it done, each year I do more and more ins. jobs. Hang in there it will take off.
Tell me more about the insurance companies banging the homeowners for not having them cleaned. Is it when they have filed a claim or when the policy is being written
