I purchased the twin setup from Paul and he's a nice guy, but I just haven't had good luck with the system. Blew out a pump the first time I used it, tripping the pressure switch pretty often which requires me to unbolt the pump and then push the pressure switch several times and then reassemble. Distance is a real problem for larger roofs, but when it's working, it works great for small to medium sized roofs.

I also encounter another issue with air getting into the system nearly every time I use the pump, so I'll be going back to the Fatboy this year or springing for an air pump.

 Distance has been the biggest issue on any pump we have used. They all seem to perform fairly similar to me.

Most would say Fatboy over 5850. Its been awhile since I used the 5850 so I cant remember how well it performed. I know that more flow isnt always better though...

We started out with the 5850 and have used the flojet 12v pump, yamada and flojet airpumps.

RIght now were using the flojet airpump that Bob sells. Its handsdown the best pump we have used. Ive had the sameone mounted to our trailer since the June before last and it has yet to even stall! Ive also got another one that we pump all of our bleach with and it hasnt missed a beat!

 Chris, we are ALL still learning, including me! The size of the air compressor is ungodly important, and we no longer suggest the 5 to 6 hp Rigid Wheelbarrow Style Compressors. I accidentally "discovered" this when our Rigid Compressor locked up, and we were forced to buy a used Rol Aire compressor that was "bigger then what we needed", or so we THOUGHT.

I found a used Rol Aire 13 hp Honda compressor with a single large tank. This is called a Hot Dog Style Compressor. When we hooked it up to the 1/2 Yamada, the difference was astonishing!

We had to reduce nozzle size, and still run off was too much, so we actually went down 2 nozzle sizes, even reduced pressure! 

Trust me, you have no IDEA what roof cleaning can be like with a 13 plus HP hot dog style compressor, and a 1 inch air pump! 

This is what we currently have been using over a year, and this set up is by FAR the best overall roof cleaning pump set up we have ever used.

The one inch pump just sits and "Farts" because it is capable of 49 GPM.

So, delivering from 5 to 10 GPM is childs play for it. Since it barely moves, vs going whoop whop whop like a smaller pump, it lasts "forever" !

We had a large shingle roof on a 15, 000 sq ft day care, so we went to a really large nozzle, and opened the big 1 inch Hastelloy Air Pump up.

Chris, it was almost "Criminal" how fast the big Wilden Hastelloy/Teflon Pump with the big Bel Air Compressor took that huge roof down.

There was nothing but concrete around the day care center, so run off was not a problem. 

Yet, we use the same setup with a 1/2 GPM nozzle to mist soffits!

Bob's little FloJet air pump don't require a whole lot of air, and that is why it is working so good. But make NO mistake my friend, your eventual goal as a  commercial roof cleaner is for a BIG ASS Compressor, with a 1 inch pump.

Plus, with a larger GPM pump Chris, you can actually clean with a weaker solution, since you can flood a roof, increasing the dwell time!

With our current set up, we are so fast, it is almost "scary".
