Oh man...I'm calling a plating company to see about coating my quick connects. Also...somebody forward this to the reel companies so they can plate the manifold interiors!

exactly the manifold is what I was thinking of!

I read the article, and see where it mentions that this nickel coating is actually NOT recommended for sodium hypochlorite. Here is the text copy/pasted from the article: Oxidizing solutions containing chlorine, such as sodium hypochlorite, also cause rapid damage of the coating. So, why all the overtures about this coating?

even if you increase the corrosion rate ten times thats still ten times more resistant than steel and thats without the heat treating sorry if your happy with all you equipment getting eatin but I will keep trying to find a solution to our common enemy

also there is only one alloy that can handle clorine and a buddy of mine that owns a machine shop can make you a hastelloy manifold but you can buy a few reels for the price he also said its harder to machine than stainless

Don't forget about Titanium, but it is very expensive. Hastelloy (alloy C) is a very good choice for a hose reel manifold, but actually THICK Stainless oreven BRONZE will work.

Bronze has as good a resistance to Chlorine as Stainless does!
