Check out the this rig we finished a while ago.

The owner chose Pressure Washer Products to remove some equipment from his smaller decrepitated trailer rig to his new tandem axle trailer.  You see the following in the pictures:

3 Pressure Washers:  2 Cold Units w/ Cat Pumps w/gear reduction units*, plumbed using the best flow actuated unloader on the market or otherwise known as the K7.2 Unloader w/a #1 orifice**, the K7.2  w/ #1's are plumbed on bypass back to the top of the tank using 1/2" ID Yellow Ag hose to keep the pumps at constant temperatures, on gravity feed from the main water tank using a 1" ID Yellow Ag Suction/Supply hose and SCH 80 PVC and brass hose barbs, utilizing an inline 1" FPT Blue Top Water Filter w/ an 80 mesh stainless steel filter, mounted on a Custom 1/4" Aluminum base plate*** for each unit.  (*Gear Reduction Unit:  stay away from these...they transfer heat to the pump and I have not ever seen one that does not have a puddle of oil beneath it) (** K7.2 with a #1 orifice allows the user to use a man lift and not cause the unloader to go into bypass because of the building static line pressure induced by an elevation gain)(***Base plate with filter still needs to be mounted to surface using ss bolts.)  1 Hot Water Skid Unit with a Belt Driven General Pump, K7.2 Unloader with a #1 orifice plumbed to bypass to the top of the main tank with a 1/2" ID length of Yellow Ag hose, supplied by a 1" ID Yellow Ag Suction/Supply hose, SCH 80 PVC and brass hose barbs on gravity feed with an inline 1" FPT Blue Top Water Filter, 80 Mesh Stainless Filter and Custom 1/4" Aluminum Base Plate.

WHISPER WASH Classic Surface Cleaner with the new cartridge sytle rebuild kit.

All-Flo Air Diaphrgam Pump:  AFKE038B3 Kynar AODD Pump with a 5 YEAR WARRANTY, an Integral Filter/Regulator set to 90 psi on a short custom made air hose and qc set, Kynar hose barbs threaded into the suction side of the pump (We used barbed elbows here...not usually recommended because elbow slow the flow), 3/4" Yellow Ag Suction/Supply hose attached to a PVC slotted filter, SCH 80 PVC Hose barbs, a 3/4" 3-Way Ball Valve with SS Mounts to allow operator to switch tanks to rinse or use different chemical, 2 x 3/4" Poly Bolted Ball Valves sitting on 2 x Custom Made 'decks' (white and green) on top of the chemical tank(s).

Rolair Compressor:  Portable Gas Powered Compressor (Rolair is an Excellent choice along with Honda engines)

4 Full Frame, Stacked Titan Hose Reels:  Models TT43XX and TT43XX with a stainless manifold and a TT4022 or 28 (1" manifold for the garden hose), 2 x stainless steel stack kits with 3/8" Blue and (old) Grey Non-Marking High Pressure 2 Wire or R2 Hose with a 3/8" Ball Valve (6292) and Mosmatic Inline Gun Swivel on each set of Hoses (Street 45's composed of Steel and Brass were installed after the picture was taken to allow the hoses to lay flat against the spools), 5/8" Yellow Ag hose for use with the All-Flo Air Diaphragm pump as a soft wash or roof wash application hose with brass fitting crimped on to the ends using one of our hydraulic crimpers (Crimped Ends mean that there are NO HOSE CLAMPS to watch out for!!!), a 1/2" Poly 90 Degree Hose Reel Swivel Upgrade for the chemical reel that resists corrosion, a length of 3/4" ID Kuri Tec Garden Hose plumbed to the tank using a 1"HIGH Temp Hudson Float Valve, 1" Poly Bulkhead, and Hudson Inlet Assembly usually assembled using SCH 40 or SCH 80 PVC  fittings(Polypropylene fittings are too soft and will fracture under stress and especially in this location), high pressure custom cut, crimped and installed jump hoses using the 1/2" MPT ferrules and a 3/4" ID Yellow Ag hose to supply to All-Flo is attached to the bottom left reel.

Spare tire for the Trailer

Vise installed on the Fender (VERY SMART)

Cones

Tool Box Mounted on the Tongue:  Contains Spare Parts such as Viton o-rings, nozzles, filter, ball valve, gun, wand, quick connect fittings, pick, push on hose barbs, splices, hose reel swivel repair kits, pump and gear oil, tools and a bottle of MEDIUM THREADLOCKER

Jugs of Apple Juice for SH and Hang Tite

Hand Pump for applying acids

Gutter Brush

Stiff Bristle Brush/Broom (Blue)

Spare High Pressure Hose

Custom Fabricated Trailer:  Facilitates an efficient work space cutting down on extra steps and time.   Notice how the operator does not have to bend over very much while working off the trailer.

I think that's it??  What did I miss?

Thank you for your prayers for those of you whom I have spoken with the last few months.  They are helping!

Nice Lori!  Reminds me of the old AM/FM-8 track casette player with a CB.  10 lbs of stuffed crammed in a 5 lb package.  That is some trailer.

Is that the SH tank right next to the compressor?  I hope not or the fumes will play havoc on the compressor air tanks.  If it is the water tank, where is the SH tank?

The tank being located behind the axles is pretty scary. If it's just a holding tank, that's cool, but if it's a transport tank & it's located behind the axles and loaded, it'll put the whole rig in a ditch before it gets going the speed limit. It's VERY pretty though. It looks well thought out.

Their is some beautiful equipment on the trailer, but the rig its self is ugly its too cluttered, I don't like the sides on the trailer, the ladder rack looks like you took another trailer with out the axles and threw it up top, if this set is used for residential any at all its a complete over kill, and not practical, If its strickly designed for commercial thats one thing, still should of went with a flat bed truck, any way far from being beautiful. Its nice but sorry you didn't win a award in my book, and I wouldn't be calling you for a custom Rig if you call this beautiful.

I define beautiful as an eye catcher, crisp and clean with a corporate looking image.

Some of the nicest rigs on this site are the Flat bed trucks or box trucks.

Looks Good! Nice clean design! Somewhat compact but I pull a 16 footer and sometimes wish mine was a bit smaller like this one.

Good Job !

I wouldn't recommend mounting the filter bowl side up. When you take it apart to clean it, the dirt can fall into the pump side of the assembly.

That's a good point, Russ. I have an inline filter like that on my HydroTek skid. It's been sitting there upsidedown ever since I bought it, in '01. It came that way. When I clean the filter out I always have to get the shop vac out to suck out anything that might fall into the trap the filter sits in or the line. It's a royal pain in the ...

I pre-filter all water that goes into my tank(s), so that helps a lot, but there's still always some junk in the inline filter.

I've never liked that setup, because on my HT skid that little filter sits behind the float tank, which makes it easy to forget about. I need to fix that. lol!

Lori,

I enjoyed speaking with you today. Looking forward to getting my order.

By the way, I think PWP did a great job biulding that rig.

I like the deck on that trailer too. I just cut the metal deck off my 18' trailer. I'm putting a wood deck on it because the weather here in Florida literally ate the metal deck in the space of a few years.

Congrats!  Thanks for posting all that, Lori.

It's always a benefit to look and learn from the different configurations and techniques.

I'm not sure about the nature of the prayers you mentioned, but the Boss knows exactly what it's about, and that's all that matters.

You have humble prayers from Skyline,

Al

Seriously, is this a test?  Or maybe he just doesn't know?  I am glad to see that he is studying my posts!

Russ wrote:

We at Pressure Washer Products feel that these forums are venues for education.

Here is the factual information :

We highly recommend mounting the filter so that the bowl is above the housing as pictured in the photos of the rig.

Mounting it the opposite, upside down or INCORRECTLY may cause pump cavitation by sucking in through the air gap.  Cavitation occurs when air enters the pump.  Air injested into the pump can cause the pump to sound unusually loud and/or vibrate and lose pressure.  Ingested air can cause severe damage to the pump.

It is true, try to keep the trash out of your pump.  That is why we recommend using liquid threadlocker and liquid teflon.

I am sorry Lori for having noticed that the float bowl was mounted upside down.  I was only curious as to why. I did not mean for another vendor or members to critique the design of such a fine looking trailer design.  I would expect other vendors to know better and show respect when ouside their vendor area (if they are allowed to post outside their vendor area) unless they want to be critiqued by other mvendors in their own vendor area.  The word of the day is RESPECT.
