GLad to hear you are going to become a premium member. At minimum, a rope tied around your waist and tied off to the chimney, that is the quick, cheap and easy way to do it. It won't necessarily keep you from getting hurt, but it might slow your descent enough to where you only have minimal broken bones.

You can install a roof anchor on houses, but many home owners don't like you drilling holes in their roof.

Personally, I have a rock climbing harness and one of these

I love that whole post!!!!  You are tooooo funny!

Take a look at what a customer brought by to show me how he saved soem bucks after going to the roundatable last summer.  (I referred him to that show.)

He paid $15 for it.  He indicated that it was a huge savings for him.  I googled and discovered that he is right.  He visited a welding shop and explained what he needed and they fab'd it for him.   Text me if you need more information.  I enjoy hearing from you.

Obviously, the shop will not insure it or offer a warranty.  However, run some stress tests of your own and use some good old common sense and you should be fine. 

Making it yourself or having it fabricated in this instance will save you what I feel is a LOT OF MONEY.   You do not have to have it shipped to you.  If you find that it needs repair or replacment, you won't have to shell out money (on your dime) to ship it back to the distributor and back.   It was a crafty idea on the part of the person that thought of it.
