 Bill did you use roof jacks to put those 2x4 and 2x6 on or did you just nail to roof ? I cant see no  roof jacks

 No need to get on the roof. Just clean it from a ladder. I have done over a 100 cedar shake roofs and have never got on the roof.

I have been doing some seaching on cleaning cedar shake roofs and I came across a company in Vancouver  http://www.southwestroof.ca/pictures.html They are using products from http://www.timberprocoatings.com/wood-finishes/log-siding-stain.html the results look really good this is something I might get into this year!Cedar can be a real PITA but in the end its worth it.
