I guess after a period of time, you get "Immune" to the SH. I am anyway, my hands are all calloused I guess because it don't bother me anymore, unless it gets in my eyes, or that crack where the sun don't shine
Silvadene rings a bell, Mike. Doc prescribed it for creosote burns I had when working at a marina when I was a kid. Stuff worked great.
Yorkie, read about 3% hydrogen peroxide as a neutralizer you may have had in the cabinet. Premium side has a good thread on neutralizers.
Seriously -- gloves, but be careful there, too. If the gloves are short nitrile and you were drenched, be aware that the glove could be holding that chem in a concentrated bath against your hands. If you're having the kind of reaction you're describing, it sounds like that could have been the case.
Search for gloves for some recommendations. Jeff in PA talked about using nitrile gloves inside of Atlas outer. Ted mentions longer "gauntlet" type he uses from Lowe's. I use nitrile disposable and these -- they have a good grip for changing nozzles, etc:

LOL. Both here, Chris.
BTW, your certification video saved me the other day after a chem splash to the eye.
Chris, why the heck would you have SH in the crack where the sun don't shine?? I hope you are not into that kinda stuff . LOL J/K! Yorkie wear gloves! That is a remedy, I like Chris have chemi-hands and I now wear gloves and my hands are slowly going back to normal. My hands sweat chemical at night which is kinda freaky. But I figured if I start now by wearing a respirator and gloves I will heal slowly but surely.

My hands and most of my body never seem to be bothered by the sh anymore either. Had second degree burns on my arms from it many years ago but that's another story.
Yes its a good idea to wear gloves but here are a couple tips. Don't spray your hands, keep all fittings tight and leak proof, change out your O rings in couplers at the first sign of a leak or change out the coupler itself.
