Just curious? Do all those who offer their wares etc for sale, pay a vendor fee?

Consider this, if you were a vendor, would you want to pay to advertise on a forum that attacked you, or what you sold ?

It is a fine line between freedom of speech, and protecting vendors from criticism. Being a vendor on the RCIA forum is like being a performer on a stage. You must be ready to accept the Boos and the hecklers, as well as the cheers.

Some Forums will flat out Ban any poster who attacks their advertisers/vendors in any way.

I got myself permanately banned real fast on an auto performance forum for daring to question what an advertiser sold!

No, but McDonalds is not a forum and I am not a member.

I prefer-if possible-to spend my money with vendors who pay money to advertise here. Not with those getting a free ride. Don't you? confuse

Chuck, I don't care if the vendor pays or not, Because I know of one that pays, and I will never buy another thing from them ever again.

I understand if you don't care to deal with a vendor, whether they pay or not, but in general, RCIA costs money to maintain and I don't think any vendor should be a cheapskate and advertise for free, allowing other vendors and us members to foot their share of the bills here, while they just cash in on what they can get from us.

I would like to chime in. As a vendor I just sat back for years and just read posts and listened to what members where saying to keep our finger on the plus of roof cleaning. I try to drop by at least once or twice a month, more if possible. I was approached over and over asking for me, as Soap Warehouse, to participate in the forum. I was even given a subforum that after months of having it have just posted to it for the first time today.
I did not ask for free advertising, the forum space was offered to us.
Soap Warehouse has, since I came on in 2007, been a supporter of all pressure washing organizations. We have had a link to RCIA on our web site since 2008, and I have talked up all groups and forums in our blog over the years. I hope at some time in the future we will be able to come to a RCIA event like we have with NCE, PWNA, PAMA and others.
We also at certain times during the year give special product discounts to organization members including members of the RCIA. All you have to do is join our mailing list or facebook page, since we have never come on to this forum and have made special offers.
So no, I do not feel like a cheapskate, I feel that anything that I will post will be of a benefit to members and if any does or does not want to take advantage of the posts just because we have or have not paid for the space that is fine.
