I've seen it mentioned several times that adding hydroxide to SH will keep it fresh longer. Will it also refresh SH that has already lost it's potency?

Hey Bill, although the addition of hydroxide will stabilze, it can't regenerate the properties and effectiveness of sodium hypochlorite. Be careful how much hydroxide you ever add to a roof mix, it is a degreaser and will have a bad reaction with the asphalt in the shingles.

 goodpost yea it will dry out the shingles making them brittle

I just replied to the "rinse or no-rinse" topic.  Chris had mentioned a "magic powder" he was working on to refresh SH.  Some of my friends messed around with magic powder back in the 90s.  I hope it's not the same stuff.  It screwed those guys up big time!

 And it didn't screw me up confuse

Now, what were we talking about?

Oh ya, using that magic powder in our SH mix!

That would be expensive and it might make your SH super strong and think it can fly?
