Well up here on Long Island I am in the final stretch, November is really just around the corner, and at times I find myself looking forward to it...it's always bitter sweet. Any " Jersey Boy's " going down South again this winter? Clyde?
So Pat how busy have you been? A good year so far or what? With 3 months to go thats what 33% of your season? Or is the working time curve vastly down from here on out? We usually surge on the painting side because of upcoming holidays. I see early spring the ripest time to land roof cleaning as everyone is looking to spiff up their exteriors but this time of year real estate is increasing again. I've seen many new homes on the market due to pre-school moving.
PM me if you don't want too much info on this side of the board.

Every year could be better, this economy makes it tough on everyone and roof cleaning is not a priority. Roof cleaning does slow down alot from here on in, and I don't clean roofs under 50 degrees. I usually shut down by mid November, I hate getting wet in the cold. Real estate is always good, a clean roof gives buyers less to pick on. But alot of HO again are selling under tough times.
Yup, I'm usually done in November too in Massachusetts, after that I have about a month to myself before the snowplow season starts. Last year we had soo much snow. Made lots of money but I wasr really sick of it by the time January came.
I work 7 days a week from mid Sept til last week in December from sun up til after dark sometimes. Then mid January I get slammed until the beginning of July and then it is so so. I always wondered what you guys do up north when winter hits cause I know you ain't cleaning much in arctic conditions.

Prices are a bit higher up North to compensate for the off season, which creates the other topic of new businesses that do not charge enough and lowball. But at least these first year lowballing business owners will be there to help me load my car at Loews or Home Depot come ths Winter.

Ed, I hope pricing in your area up turns. Not all "new" upstarts don't know how to operate a business sucessfully. You sound like you know what your doing pretty damn' good, hope alls well.
hey Phil, I'll find out soon enough. Just turned in my proposals this morning for a huge restaurant and another that has 11 locations. I've got the upper hand now and should start reeling them in soon.

Makes you wonder what winter is going to be like. It was 102* in Louisville Saturday. Today's high was 67* with rain, which we needed badly. 20-25 MPH winds made the wind chil in the lower 50's. Going to be this way for 3 more days then back to the 80's.
Now that my knees are better, I hope we get tons of snow so I can play on my 4 wheeler cleaning driveways.
Keeping roofs clean in Long Island and a few months left to do this! Fall cleaning Specials!! Florida has a lot of dirty roofs if you guys make it down!
