I agree with you about competition being good. The more people out there spreading the word about our service the better. Thats just free advertising for us.

And I REALLY agree with you about the competition that has a full time job and therefore doesnt have the worries that we do. You would think that since these types of guys are out hustling working a second job (roof cleaning) that they would want to make the most money they can. and not cut theirselves short.

Maybe the best thing we could do would be to make friends with them and tell them.... Dont lowball. This is what you can make! Heck, tell them what you charge and tell them if they are going to lowball at least only do it by $50 so you can have a shot to sell your service.

I dont know. Maybe it would be best to not worry about them at all....

Good idea Chris... if those guys would just get a clue and understand that they can make more money and work as a team, so to speak, we would all be better off in the long run. I have dealt with this kind of crap for years in remodeling, the guy that undercuts me by thousands and shows up to do trim with a chainsaw! Then, I get a call to PLEASE come and fix the mess!

Joking is good! It's just hard to pick up here at times!

He always does the same thing, just takes little 1 sentence shots, but never truly gets involved with any conversation of importants - no REAL contribution, just short shots and then tries to be seen as the good guy.

It's not working so well for me anymore.

Maybe where he is at in Arkansas he just talks lowballers into being his buddy and raising their prices. Let him come to my small town areas, with 3 pages in each telephone book loaded with pressure washers and roof cleaners. Plus all the school teachers, landscape and lawn guys and firemen who do this part time, just to add a little extra income.

I don't get his "jokes"

I assume any time a majority has a feeling about something, it's a "MOB MENTALITY"

I think Chris has been listening to the AC group thinking a little too long, or lives in the wrong country, where what the majority wants is not considered a MOB MENTALITY.

After 22 years, I make less than I did 11 years ago, thanks to lowballers, "Go Green" and advertisers like Roof-A-Cide who spend their advertising $ on putting down the use of chlorine, more than they spend on talking about their own products supposed benefits.

I just got cancer cut out of my shoulder this afternoon and 11 stitches, from my years of hard work. I don't find any of this cutthroat crap one bit funny! NO JOKE!

Ya, I know, I argue and shake things up a lot, but at least I don't just take 1 sentence cheap shots and even at 63 years old, I am always ready to come out from behind my keyboard, weather to take a beating or give one, {on or off the keyboard}.

Part timers will close many businesses. Mob mentality is about standing up for what you believe in then so be it,   I am from Detroit That's what big 3 unions due! Unite for fair playing fields for the majority.

Well lets see, from what I've heard Ted is about 6'4", weighs about 270-280 lbs, is an ex-marine, has a great sense of humor, and one hell of a temper. I've never met him, but developed a freindship over talkshoe.

I have met AC, and I don't think this would be much of a contest. (my moneys on Ted), so I would highly recommend canceling the face to face, and for sure the fishing trip, unless you like being an anchor.lol.

Hopefully this will never come about, but the world is getting crazier by the day.

I beleive it is our responsibility to show homeowners the value of our service and price. If we cant do that then its our own fault. And beleive me I am affected by this. I am undercut on price on the majority of residential jobs I bid. Im much too honest to be a very good one-time in person salesman and it shows in my closing rate!

Also, over here we might not have the amount of competition that is in other places, But we dont have the population and the amount of work either. I am not kidding..... I would LOVE to live in a metropolitan area with 5 or 6 million people all within our work radius. Endless opportunities!

I usually am one the hammers, and AC mob folks "Friends of the nails" guys like you, always show up. And that's normal. An opinion on a forum is posted and differing opinions are posted as replies. If you think there was a mob against AC, don't forget, he has his mob too.

If a group of people unite in a thought or effort, I guess that offends whatever political mindset you may have?

Ever think of moving to a dictator ruled country ? Group efforts are strongly discouraged in such places, mobs a killed and that type of rule may be more pleasing to you?

 I agree Chuck those were and are my words. However many were told "Just get rid of AC and and what has happened here at the RCIA since April 2011. Forget about me, its not about me. Many others are GONE and of that 2400 that are registered about 50 even post here anymore. What did the new leadership accomplish for the RCIA?

Its all about leadership and I would like to see discussions moved from who dislikes who to what can we do for the industry.

AC... since I will admit to being one of those in the email mob, I never read one email that stated: "we will take over and we will get so much done and we will make a difference and if you side with us we will do this and that". Who were they talking too? Who was the king that could grant such a request? As far as the other part of your quote, there were more than a small email mob who were ready to see you go. Chris brought you back even after you said some really nasty things about him and you even have the audacity to make some snide remarks in your little piece about roof cleaners. Chuck is so right...

There were many who were willing to help out here but at the end of the day, this is Chris' forum. He has control and he decides what happens, as he did with you and roof-a-cide. The mob would have kept you both out!
