SH vs termite applications

I don't know..... but I've heard the same thing from a homeowner - he said his Terminix pest control guy said if bleach is used around the house, it voids the pest control warranty.

I called a friend who owns the largest pest control co. in my area, and he said he'd never heard of that before, and would not know why either....

Ive heard of it. Bottom line is that pest control companies will look for any reason to void a warranty. Termite jobs are only to contain the bug, they never eliminate the nest.

This is a scare tactic used by a company that uses percab cleaners and then surface cleaners on asphalt shingle roofs.

I have performed termite treatments for 30 years and I do see where the SH could compromise any pesticide application.

On the other hand the sodium left behind after a house wash or roof treatment could be a level toxic enough to kill insects, depends on the pest.

Termidor should not be affected but other treatments are inferior to Termidor. Just tell the homeowner not to tell the Pest Control company that they had the roof cleaned. I worked for Massey/Middleton Pest Control for about 4 months as a Termite Tech to see what that deal was with effects of cleaning and pest control treatments, I quit there on 9/11... yes that 9/11 and went back to Mallard with my covert missions analysis. I had to see what effects it may have on treatments for termites.

My conclusion was keep it hush hush from the PC reps that bleach was used and no ones the wiser.
Sort of shady but roofs need to be cleaned and termites need to be prevented so it's a win win if it's played right.

Give me a break, this is an old scare tactic used by pressure washers to steal roof jobs from us. I always tell them "Yes, maybe, but pressure washing will certainly neutralize your roof, forever"
