I can't understand why anyone would do a demo on a residential job, especially someone who advertises $279 roof cleaning in a market that supports pricing 2xs that amount.
Here is the result of a competitors demo on a job we ended up doing this week. Why would they do the top and leave the clean streaks below? Wouldn't it make sense to do the bottom and leave the top dirty?
The freshly seal coated driveway is stained by a chemical leak from the guys truck. My guys are forbidden from going on a customers driveway. The picture where they stained the driveway by the garage with gutter cleaner didn't come out, but it was a mess.
Doesn't that just make you giddy seeing how bad others work is and you know that you are better and perfect example of you get what you pay for. That's why they cut throats because they are not in any way professional nor do they possess any true experience or ethics. They will be gone soon, don't worry.

Every now & then an HO gets to see that it's about value not just price. This could change their perception of service contractors from now on. Thank you Mr. Blow & Go. I had a conversation with an HO yesterday about his small roof.I told him I have a minimum of $350 and he said he already had a guy that would do his roof for $200.I said, and you are still shopping for someone cheaper?????
Ok ill go ahead and say it. Dan Ronan has been around for quite some time. I wont bad mouth him. But i also dont understand why he would put this price on his advertisements? This isnt Florida (sorry guys). I can see if he was the new guy trying to get his foot in the door. Its spot-on to say NJ can support 2x that price. Maybe some people just need beer money.

Aaron, My reply is exactly the oppisite. I agree with him and applaud him for continuing to look for someone that will charge in the proper price range. I'll say "I could tell right off you were the type of person that likes to have things done the right way and is very intelligent and thorough when it comes to someone working on your home, I can tell you take a lot of pride in your beautiful home. It is so good to meet someone that recognizes value over price and doesn't always SETTLE for the lowest price. I can tell sir you do not want to hire someone that is gonna take short cuts"
Then we get to have a conversation about my pricing versus his pricing.
I have found this to work a lot better than my old answer which was, "then why I am here" and walk away disgusted and mad.

I agree about the driveway...I Never work from the driveway.... always from the street. Not only can you stain the driveway with chems, but If a crack shows up... someone may say that the weight from your truck or trailer caused it...

good point I hadn"t thought about that I always park in the street cause my old toyota leaks alittle but with 1500lbs pounds of love and equipment on top of that! I will never use a driveway just to be safe

Truth is, it probably wouldn't crack it, but some folks would just love to have you pay for a drive that was already cracked or they cracked.
Ok the driveway is a given, but frankly the demo is effectively disgusting and if I were the homeowner I wouldnt want to live with the shame.
true I would have done just the bottom corner you want the homeowner to see a clean spot not make the whole roof look bad this guy was no real cleaner he won't last long cause obviously he doesn't care
