This is one of the cedar shakes roof cleanings by Sullivan Roof Cleaning 515-971-1430 in the Southfork area of Waukee, Iowa. This whole cleaning was 7300 sq. ft. One of the three car garages is not included in the photo's but it came out nice.
nice work Bruce. Seems like Iowa has nothing but cedar roofs. I think you have posted pics of more cedar roofs this year so far than we have cedar roofed houses total in my area. I have one near me, but it is so bad with moss, and about 3 foot trees growing on it that I have not even stopped to talk with him. I would like to do a couple more that seem to be not so bad, before I tackle one so bad.

The key to these type roofs is the felt under the shingles. Though they can look like you could grow a garden on them, they can clean up good. If the felt isn't cracked or dry rotted your good to go on cleaning.
