Chris, I tested the pumps in Tampa and I didn't witness 50', but it was comparable to my Fatboy. I saw other advantages to a 2nd pump as for a backup and to apply different chems in different applications.

I agree, it is always nice to have a 2nd pump handy. What kind and make/models are the 12 volt pumps on it ?

Thy were something Paul had made, so I'm not exactly sure.. He said they were more durable than the delavans and didn't have the issues that most of us who use them have quite often.

Paul Kassander is quite a resourceful guy to have pumps made special for him, if that is the case ?

While it wont be the ideal set up,but I think I'm going to have to keep everything mobile for now. I don't live in a big city or anything so I cant count on cleaning roofs or homes daily and I only have one small p'up. I figure if I start small and see how it goes I can then buy another truck or trailer.

These pumps were diesigned specifically for Paul by the top pump designer from one of the pump companies. I can not remember the name but of the comapny but if you call Paul he'll be more than happy to tell you.

I missed the demo of it in Tampa, but they are making some claims about it I wonder about.

They claim it will shoot 50 feet with 300 feet of 1/2 inch hose, yet the pumps only have 60 PSI. The pressure drop through 300 feet of 1/2 inch hose will leave very little PSI to shoot very far, when you do the math.

Dual Pumps can be a great idea, but draw more amps and eat batteries. Yes, you can have 2 guys spraying a roof, but then, who is going to be there to work the ground ?

So, the presumably increased speed is ofset by the need for an extra guy to water, then what IF the second guy spraying the roof sprays ME, then you will need an ambulance for him! roof cleaning

Then, how does ONE Ground Man combat run off from TWO people on the roof spraying at once no

Regardless, my Hat is OFF to Paul for his ambitious and first new roof cleaning product biggrin

IMHO, Paul Kassander needs to offer a "shoot hose" made only for shooting roofs from the ladders. It shall be 5/8 or 3/4, and no more then 100 feet long to avoid excess pressure and flow loss.

This is what I am talking about

Chris, I was the first to try out this pump system and helped Paul design it. It was atually designed for the students that attend my Roof Cleaning and Pressure Cleaning School.  I was looking for a great starter system that would be reasonably priced for guy's that are starting in the business.  At $697.00 this system acheives that.  You get everything you need except your tank and battery.

This is a great pump system, (only draws 6 amps) and I am able to get 50 feet pretty easily.  I do not use 300 feet of hose, I use 175. I also have a Fat Boy and in my side by side comparisons, Pauls new pump easily out distances the fat boy.

The purpose of the dual pump system is so that you have a back up in case your main pump fails, (in my reasearch I always read about the Fat Boy issues with relays or whatever failing, needing a fan to keep them cool, etc), and you can litereally switch to the other pump in less than 30 seconds,  use one to spray and the other to transfer, have two men using both, one on house on roof, and Yes if you choose to do this you would to have an extra ground man. Most of us are NOT going to run both pumps at a time for cleaning roof and house at same time, but that option is there if you choose too. The unit also comes with a pig tail that would allow you to use both pumps one gun and achieve 9gpm. Again, not something you would do everyday but the option is there if needed.

The low amp draw of 6 amps per pump means no eaten batteries...lol.  I charge mine about 2-3 days and never have had a problem.

Have had mine about 3-4 months and so far I love it. I realize 3-4 months is not a long time, but time will tell how long the pumps will last.  Replacement Pumps by themselves are only about $125.00 so it can almost be viewed as a disposable pump.  If i can get 1 year out of one of these pumps, I'm happy man. Anything more is just gravy as far as i am concerned.

It is very easy to work with and Is very light weight and transportable if need be. IMO it is the best value for the money on the market today.

Here are a few pics of the pumps sytem. Also a couple of pic's of us using it to shoot 2nd story roofs from the ground.

Talked to Paul yesteday and he has sold quite a few of these and everyone has been very pleased with them so far,  I know I am.

It seems very impressive. The 6 amps draw must mean the motor is more efficient ? It takes pressure to shoot,  pressure requires horsepower, and horsepower requires amps.

The Fat Boys can draw 17 amps I think,  this draws only 6, and outperforms a Fat Boy ?

FloJet and Delavan are huge companies, and usually require you buy a lot of pumps before they will private label a pump for you. However, the Chinese are eager to do business in the American Market !  Perhaps Paul was able to tell them his needs, and have a pump made to his specs ?  All Chinese stuff is not "junk". I have plenty of stuff that I own that was made in China that is of very high quality, and very  low cost.

It's not made by Flojet or Delvan and their not Chinese. For the life of me I can't remember the brand name. But you are correct in that whoever built it for him it was someone that he was able to tell him exactly his needs. We were going to go with a  delvan but when Paul went to order some they were out and were going to be out for 90 days. And that seems to be a history with Delvans, long periods of time when they are out.  That is also what gave us the idea for the dual pump system, so there would always be a back up.

Chris you should call Paul and talk to him.  He would be glad to listen to any input you have, especially the "shooter hose" you were talking about earlier.  One of the things I like about Paul is he listens to us contractors and then helps make things a little easier for us.

LOL, well I agree if you are running a 12 volt pump, a back up is a great idea, because 12 volt pumps are low cost. Actually, for any roof cleaning pump, a back up pump is a great idea, since nothing is forever with chlorine, except rust and corrosion.

I remember Paul when he was with a different company, before he went on his own. I did not realize that was the same Paul at the Tampa Roundtable, or I would have said hello. Yes, Paul sent me some roof cleaning chemicals to try out once. It was kind of a bad time for us, employee wise, and notes were not taken about their performance, as I asked my ex employees to do.

I will make it a point to try and call Paul this week, but do me a favor Doug ? I am out working days in the hot tampa florida august Sun, and sometimes get forgetful and tired. If I forget, ask Paul to call me at 813 655 8777 and leave an evening number for him.
